What an interesting experience. There were 2 of us, and for some reason every restaurant we tried that night was closed, shut down, had a broken air conditioner, etc. That's how we stumbled upon Jalea! The food was very good, we were the only folks in the joint, and the service was so nice. We ended up chatting with our server a bit.
Wanted to try out the local Peruvian spot and the food was great. Ordered a jalita, some ceviche, maduros, white rice, and wifey got a margarita. Everything tasted great. But I will say the place is pricier than expected. The jalita was a really small portion and that was $15. The ceviche was like $30. Bowl of rice was $8. Aside from price, the food was really tasty. Food matches what you might get in Peru ; tasty, spicy, and full of flavours. The setting is quite nice and clean. The smile that our server maintained all through our stay is unforgettable.
