I have yet to get something I didn't like. Tables are a bit sticky every time I go.. Excellent breakfast. That I didn't even know existed... Being a single dad I I don't have time to cook dinner a lot. So I buy take out food at a premium all the time. I don't have time to order online while driving for 5 people. I love the food and service but the inability to answer the phone is absolutely maddening.. I've went there after 5+ calls and there was nobody in the dining room and ordered in person more times than I care to admit. So I've sat there for 20 minutes plus repeatedly. It's like they don't want my ridiculous amount of money. But still always good food.. That town has no place to park and the website menu is outdated.. But the inability to answer the phone is my only gripe..Parking: Parking is impossible unless you are willing to drive around the town Repeatedly. Or walk far.. Which is fine if it's nice out.

Love this place!!! Local highland resident here and I love coming here and supporting local businesses. They’ve come such a long way since first established. Food and service are both excellent. Vibe is warm, welcoming, and just the right spot to bring your family or friends, or like me and need a space to get some small tasks done!Pricing is fair for what is offered and hope more people check out this little hidden gem!Menu item: Highland Heights in photo below!

My husband and I went to lunch last week. I was very hungry and ordered, I think it was called, "The Highlander". If you are a fan of poached egg dishes that are over the top, I highly recommend. It was on grilled brioche, grilled halomi cheese sauteed spinach, avocado, dressed cherry tomatoes along with the eggs. I ate the WHOLE thing. Plus! It came with spanish style breakfast potatoes which I had to take home. Our server, Erin, is one of the former owners and she is one of the sweetest most accomodating people around. We are lucky, we live right down the street but if you are in the area and are hungry, stop by, you won't be disappointed.

The food and coffee were good, but wish the kid size French toast had fruits on the side. It was great that their games kept the kids busy while we were waiting for our food.

We went to Underground Caffee for lunch. As we walked in, the waitress asked us if we wanted coffee or something to eat from the other side of the room. No 'Hello!', no 'Welcome!', no 'I'll be right with you!'. NO SMILE. We already knew we were in for a mediocre experience. We ordered 2 toasts (1 mushroom and 1 Italian). We were the only open ticket. It seemed like someone was in training in the kitchen; and did not mind waiting a bit longer than what it should take to make 2 toasts. BUT... one of the two toasts took longer than the other and we were not served at the same time when only two other people there were already eating their meals, and no one else needed to be served (you would think that toasts are easy enough, but nope). To make things worse, the mushrooms were cold, and the home fries looked old, flat as a pancake, drenched with oil and cold. There was also very little of it. The toasts being small, we asked for two extra slices of bread. That was a mistake that cost us an extra $3 (we don't expect to eat for free as the waitress insinuated but we don't like being ripped off). Overall, the food was cold and it sucked. Also the waitress seemed more interested in talking to her friend seating at the bar than making sure that we enjoyed our experience as customers. She asked us once how 'things were' and ran back to her friend without even waiting for an answer. We don't recommend this place unless you want a truck stop experience.

Great Burger, went there and they were in the middle of renewing their liquor license so could not order a beer.

Nice place, note it currently doesn’t have a license so there is no beer which was a bit of a surprise and disappointing.

So I live in highland where the underground cafe is the owners just sold it to New Management and I was just there I'm an executive chef who's taught the culinary so I understand about the food distributors prices going up since covid and I just bought two deluxe cheeseburgers and order of onion rings and an order of fried pickles and without tip it came to 57 and some change the burgers were good the Angels did not sing when I ate it that made these burgers cost so much just a little unhappy with their pricing seeing that all it was was two hamburgers and two sides no drinks it was to go with tip it cost me close to $70 not too happy
