The most amazing staff!! Amazing sushi! You get what you pay for and very accommodating! There is an allergy in the family and this place takes it so seriously and uses extra precautions when we order. This is the only place we feel safe and comfortable with and know where getting quality meals!!!!

Honestly I called to place an order and I was explaining to him what I wanted . When I got there he didn’t understand what I wanted and got mad and threw away good food . And then made what I actually wanted but didn’t even plate it appropriately. So definitely not the best people to be around.

Great restaurant, the food is very tasty, and good portions are provided, not to mention the magnificent customer service. Me and my family love to order from here from time to time, and We'll continue to show them support.

First time coming here and the food was delicious! I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box and it was sooo good with a reasonable price.

This is my favorite sushi place in all of NYC. Has always served great sushi for an affordable price as far as sushi goes. They also have many other great options if sushi isn't your forte. Great little spot!

7/30/23\\nThis place has really gotten bad.\\nI think they have new owners. Was eating at the restaurant and they served everything in plastic to go containers. Food was average at best. No sake no beer. The Atmosphere was dead.\\nI would never eat there again!!!\\nBig mistake!!! This has to be the worst sushi place I have ever been to.

The best experience of my entire life was at Kawaii Sushi. The front desk man at may 4th,2023 was so sweet and so kind. Best sushi I’ve ever had, wonderful customer service. I will forever come back, not just for the sushi, but for the experience i was provided with. Hey guys I came back!!. This was the better experience. I had Denny and lemme just say he’s the best guy I’ve ever met. Every time I go and see this guy, he just woes me. THANK YOU DENNY!!

This is not the same owners and menu they don't even make the bento boxes anymore like it states on the big sign outside . The sushi rolls we did have were bland and not as good as the older place . When you order a bento they want to send you to their sister plane near by Hana which is also bad ! Another good place in the neighborhood bites the dust !

Not sure if the owners are the same but after 10 + years no longer a favorite of ours . You can't eat in just seems not cozy any more

I've order and eaten at Kawaii for more than a decade, it was always a great, consistent meal. This week I tried Kawaii after their "reopening from renovation" which was supposed to include a new condensed menu. I was hesitant since almost all of the food options (that were not sushi) had been removed. Kawaii no longer offered teriyaki chicken, tempura anything, rock shrimp, steamed gyoza, hibachi fried rice, udon, soba, soups, pad thai, etc. I ordered the one non-sushi option they offered- protein bento. The food was inedible, and nothing about the seasonings or spices tasted authentically Japanese. I've never tossed a meal without eating it, but unfortunately I did. It became clear the owner or chef had changed and their food was nothing like their previous menu prior to October 2022. Although they kept the name after the "renovation" Kawaii Sushi is no longer the restaurant it once was. I will not be returning.
