I chose to get dinner from El Rey super last minute and I was blown away by the enchiladas rojas with carnitas. Some of my favorite Mexican food I’ve ever had! The churros were also pretty good. Definitely will be going back.

El Rey is a great little spot! We've been here two times now. The atmosphere is casual, service is great, staff is friendly and food is yummy! I ordered the chicken Tinga tacos and my fiancé ordered the carnitas tacos both times. Would definitely recommend for a quick and delicious meal.

Everything we had was delicious! The fried quesadillas were like lighter, tastier versions of an empanada and we loved them! Really enjoyed eating a full meal that felt light at a Mexican restaurant. Will definitely be returning whenever we're in town!

Grabbed some lunch here while getting my tires changed across the street. Super clean, nicely decorated, cozy spot. I ordered tamales with green sauce. They were excellent. Flavorful, fresh tasting, and hot. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Hands down! The best Mexican food in the Hudson Valley. Elote, chips and salsa, bistec sopes. I'm sure everything they make is extraordinary but these are my favorite Mexican dishes. Do yourself a flavor!

This place is a gem in the rough of Mexican restaurants dotting the Hudson Valley. I have extremely high expectations when it comes to Mexican food. It is one of the top world cuisines with so much diversity and flavor yet so many Mexican establishments dumb their food down to cater to an Americanized version of what the cuisine should be. I have traveled Mexico extensively and have eaten in many different regions. When I say El Ray is Legit, trust me. The Food is authentic Oaxacan. The Esquite is the real deal. The Tlayudas remind me of the first time I had stumbled upon this dish in a market outside of Puebla. The Tacos take me back to those late night Taco stands that dot Mexico. They even have a Ceasar salad (invented in Tijuana not Italy)! I can't say enough good about the food here. Their location is Small but charming. Service is warm and friendly. If you are looking for real Mexican look no further.

Today was our second time getting take out. First time was two weeks ago. This is the real deal for authentic Mexican food. The young girl last time and the young man at the counter today were extremely pleasant. Customer service was great as soon as I walked in the door. I wasn’t looking at a menu the first time I ordered, and the girl pretty much walked me through it as I placed a large order. The guy today didn’t want to smash all the containers in one bag, so he used two while stacking everything in them nice and neat. The nachos were amazing, the fried quesadillas were perfect. The chorizo tacos are my favorite. If you love authentic Mexican food go check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.
