This is an Upstate NY classic summer time eatery! They are an outdoor only restaurant with either takeout or outdoor dining, so they are only open in the summer into early fall when the weather is nice. This location does have a pavilion to eat under and a small enclosed area you can eat in, but it does get extremely hot in that room with no a/c. Their burgers and hotdogs are classic, with their buttered and toasted buns. They are a smaller “smashburger” style patty, but the prices are very low and affordable, so it’s not expensive for a smaller burger. Their crinkle fries are absolutely amazing, I’ve never had a fry like it that is as crispy as theirs! The ice cream isn’t my favorite so I normally skip that and just get soda or bring a bottle of water with me. I definitely recommend this place to anyone new to Upstate ny or traveling through in the summertime!

Nice place for a visit by the water grab a quick bite and enjoy the scenery. Pleasent staff, area fairly kept well. Some of the picnic tables were a little lose but over all a nice visit.

Stopped in by boat a year ago, simple food bought a burger with fries and an ice cream cone. Fair prices and decent quality. Sort of like food youd buy at an old drive in theatre. Would go back.

I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Voss's in the Ilion marina and have been going there every summer for about 8 years. After today though, I will never go back nor recommend it to anyone I know! Don't worry- the food is still good and the area is very nice- I can't, however say the same of some of the members of the staff!! In the past, when there were only 1 or 2 young people back there behind the counter, I had received courteous, friendly and efficient service- on this particular day, however (Wednesday around 7 pm} there appeared to be at least 6 employees back there and they were carrying on more like they were at a Frat party than in a workplace! In my opinion, taking care of customers seemed to be the last thing on their minds- I had been smoking a cigarette, but when I saw the signs, I quickly put it out before I approached the counter- as I turned around after placing my order, I heard a young man yell out "enjoy your cancer!" I thought his comment was grossly inappropriate and unprofessional and I told the girl at the window I had caught that comment and that they shouldn't judge their customers! She immediately went back to the cooking area and told the cook what I had said-then they all had some kind of pow-wow and next thing I know, I'm the focus of attention! I felt awkward and uncomfortable-when all I wanted was to quietly order 2 steak sandwiches and be on my way home-sans all the DRAMA . The topper was when the guy who made the comment and I'm guessing cooked my food came to the counter personally to hand me my sandwiches. He gave me an ear to ear fake smile and told me to "enjoy my food!"-all this while several other staff members gathered to watch me walk to my car - grinning like they were in on a prank or joke that I was the brunt of!- a feeling of dread overcame me as I drove away and when I got home, my husband{ By the way, I'm a woman-using his e-mail account{} and I were afraid to eat the sandwiches and ended up throwing them both in the garbage!..You know- I read the review guidelines and edited out a lot more I wanted to say, but sometimes I wish I still lived in an era when people weren't afraid to just "Tell it like it is!" Anyways, I had to get this off my chest-ruined dinner/ crappy end to my day-thanks.

The food at the marina is as great as the original in Utica. Definite stop if you get a chance.

Great Burgers, Hot Dogs and everything else - including soft serve. Right alongside the Barge Canal. Grab you food sit at one of the many picnic tables - then go for a walk and check out the boats. Burgers are GREAT .. Buns toasted.. VERY pretty setting Try the vanilla milk shakes.. EXCELLENT (way better than their other location in Yorkville)
