Visiting from Canada and had Taste of Thai for dinner with my husband last night. Amazing authentic thai food. A definite must when in Ithaca. We will be back.

We had a delicious dinner and relaxing experience before a show at the State theater today. We shared crispy duck salad, nicely done, great flavor, and generous portion. We also enjoyed pad Thai with shrimp. But the star of the meal was the stir fry cashew chicken! Atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Clean and uniquely appointed, with extra little touches like votive and Flowers, a little detail not routinely considered these days. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficiently paced. THANK you !

Great Tom Kha soup and other dishes. Spice levels were inflated (a 4 was not actually very spicy) but great food and service otherwise.

Accidentally swallowed a sharp foreign object in my pad thai. Must have been a toothpick or a nail or something. It really scratched up my throat. I contacted the restaurant but they haven't gotten back to me. Guess I'll wait and see if I die.

The best pad thai I have ever eaten.

It's been years since we've tried Taste of Thai. What we've been missing! Tonight we ordered (via takeout) and enjoyed an outstanding meal. The vegetables were crispy, fresh, and colorful. (No old soggy frozen, overcooked veggies. Yay!) Sauces were all tasty and perfectly spiced. Our next order later in the week was more ordinary. The veggies were not as plentiful and crisp, but we will try again for that perfect order.

We’ve been coming here for many years, but I’m really worried about this place. The food is still awesome and it’s our favorite Thai place in Ithaca, but they seem to be suffering from poor management the past few years, leading to longer wait times and a diminished experience. As an example, we recently wanted to get takeout Thai food on a Sunday evening. We were unable to reach the restaurant by phone to place an order. Later we learned from one of the staff that it was her job to answer the phone, but she was the only one in the front of the restaurant at the time and “couldn’t answer the phone”. Huh? The phone just rang and rang, never went to a machine or anything. Not even being sure if the restaurant was actually open, we hesitantly placed an order online for pickup. It said it would be ready in 45 minutes. In the past I would have expected 30 minutes for this non-busy time, but figured the 45 minute timeframe was adding a little slack to manage expectations - no problem. We arrived about 50 minutes later. As expected, the restaurant was not very busy (maybe fewer than 1/3 of the tables occupied) but our food was not ready. They said “7 to 8 more minutes”. We walked down the commons and came back about 15 minutes later. Our food was still not ready. They finally brought it out in another 5 to 10 minutes (about an hour and 15 minutes after we placed the order). There seemed to be several employees just milling about, not really sure what they were supposed to be doing. They remodeled the restaurant during the pandemic and somehow managed to remove all the charm it used to have. I really hope they can get their act together or I fear they will go out of business. That would be a shame, because it really is the best Thai food in Ithaca. Also, make sure you don’t confuse them with Taste of Thai Express on Meadow St. (especially if you are placing a takeout order). That place is not the same, not affiliated, and has inferior quality food.

Asked about a vegan menu, they said none of the curries can be made vegan because the sauce is “pre-made” i guess they don’t make their own curry saucesthe tofu pad thai was ok. my partner got mixed vegetables and came across a foul smelling something on her plate. we thought it might be fish (not supposed to be there) only to find out it was a spoiled mushroom.

It may appear that the place is closed, but the main lights seem to be out.Staff was very hospitable and knew well about the food items on the menu. Most of the food was delicious. Tum Yum was too sour, so I would be cautious.Thai Spicy Noodles were quite tasty. Thus, recommend. Spicy Rad Nah was nice & different (slimy). Ordered 4/5 spicy and was okayish hot. We eat Indian level hot food, so even 5/5 wouldn't be hot for us. Regular eaters could go up to 3 or 4.The only complaint is the kids' music blasting from the kitchen entrance. It was very irritating as it was getting mixed with the music played throughout the restaurant. Couldn't enjoy the good vibe.Vegetarian options: Mixed vegetables. Tofu and Mock chicken/duck as protein options available.
