come here frequently for the ribs and Mac and cheese and it never disappoints. Workers are always super nice and the place is very clean and well maintained! Couldn't recommend this place more!

This past Sunday, 12/10/23, my husband and I, after church and driving for almost one hour in the rain, waited in line for 25-30 minutes to be served. We were skipped over as if we were not even there, not once but 6 people behind us were served while we still waited patiently. It was lunch time and we were very hungry, especially being diabetic it was of some urgency to get something to eat before driving for that long again. A young woman asked if we were supposed to be next. We said yes, she then proceeded to walk away, we waited another few minutes thinking she was going to come back to take our order, she did not. So we asked the other male server if we can place our order with him, he said “give me a minute”. He then proceded to take the next 3 people’s order that were behind us and ignored us. We waited again for another 5 minutes, to our amazement we were passed over a few more times and people who came in after us ordered and received their orders and left while we still waited…. We did not want to cause a scene so we left, walked in the rain for a block since there was no parking near by…. We discussed the matter and came to the conclusion that if we were black, maybe just maybe then we would have been served since everyone else that was online was black and we are not. Needless to say, I doubt we will be going back there and if anyone asks us about this venue, we will share our experience with them. But as Business Owners ourselves, we know how not to treat our Patrons and would not allow something like this to happen in our business. To say we were disappointed is an understatement, especially being this establishment is supposed to be Honoring Christ, I say this because they have a Bible scripture written on a “white board” on the wall in front of the cashier. I would suggest the Owner have a talk with the Staff about how important good customer service is and how detrimental bad customer service can be. Someone could easily report such an issue to the BBB or to the DOB to have a Health Inspector consider making a visit to this establishment. But I must say, everything happens for a reason, I believe that God allowed this in order to keep us from possibly getting sick from the food this time.

I am so disappointed. Collagen has no seasoning. Macaroni and cheese. Just noodles with cheese on top. No cooking corn bread and I was supposed to get corn bread. Yams. Not sweet at all. No cinnamon . Ribs. Blah

Drove from Brooklyn today due to a rib craving, open less than an hour and the food looked pretty sad. Far from the great Rib Shack we all grew up on. They actually had containers of burnt short ribs in the case, looked like pieces of charcoal...whoa..The smallest ribs I've ever seen, I was sooo disappointed a few customers and I were talking about how off the food looked except for the fried fish and the desserts. A lady said she hadn't seen the owners in a while and how the place has fallen so far off.....I decided to get a couple of the ribs to see if they tasted as bad as they looked under the sauce with such minimal meat so I asked for the bottom slab and I get a cobbler and order of yams. The guy starts cutting it and gives me 4 of the small ribs off the end. I say can I have the regular ribs and he says he can't do that he was told by the owner he had to cut from the end. I want ribs, not ends. *Most places cut the slab and you get the end and the longs. but that was the last straw for me and I just walk to the line to pay and while waiting for what I don't know they were doing besides chit chatting to not take my money, the older lady and I spoke more about the lack of food quality , I told her to have a good weekend as well as the kid that cut the ribs to have a good weekend and I walked out with nothing. .....Do better or close the doors...you're two steps out of it already....sad

Horrible food! Horrible service! Just horrible ! I don't recommend this place !!!! The fact that this is a bbq place is laughable. I think people honestly go here because of the convenience . Smh

The food has changed not for the better I use to eat here with my parents when I was younger they new the owner like most older people in the area did the food was great now not so much the peach cobbler was so bland like they forgot to put sugar in it that was the worst peach cobbler I’ve ever had in my life omg the fish smells so bad it deterred me from eating it, is this stuff fresh or even washed? I never smelled cooked fish that smells worse than a fish market and it was only one order, they need to do better whoever is cooking this stuff it’s not it my mans the Bbq chicken noooo flavor like they baked unseasoned chicken and put some sauce on it no pride in the way this is made the worst meal ever when y’all use to be the best very disappointing and disgusting won’t waste my money here anymore.

My go to for soul food, I've recommended this place to all my friends. There portions are worth every penny!! You will not be disappointed. I do find that there is an inconsistency about there food. Some days it's amazing but other days it's just good. Like they need to keep the one great cook. Cornbread is not the best by any means. It's a definitely hole in the wall type of place, a staple in the community for a long time, I'm glad it's here.
