I would love to rate this bakery higher but she refused to bake a cake for my "too small wedding" and the customer service was awful which is funny because the lights were off and the door was closed until a boy opened the door seeing as we were interested in the bakery. She didn't even bother naming a price for what we were looking for (which we would have paid whatever she said). Their website claims they have items in the store they don't have.

Sweet May’s makes some of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. She is such a charming and nice person who helped me design a beautiful cake for my birthday. I’m so happy she’s in the neighborhood, so I can always come and get yummy dessert!

If I can give 0 stars I would. I was trying to order a cake for my daughters birthday and unfortunately I cannot come to the store so I sent my sister in with all the information. The baker called me back with the price and was very rude when I called back to confirm the order. She was speaking very rudely telling me she doesn’t do small cakes. She demanded that she doesn’t take orders over the phone even when I explained to her I have no one to watch my baby. So I told her I will send my sister in to speak to them regarding the cake and instead of giving me an answer they just hung up the phone. I would never recommend them to anyone! Very rude people. As a baker you are supposed to be able to make cakes in all sizes.

I cannot rave enough about May’s customer service and the absolutely scrumptious confections she makes. She uses only the freshest ingredients and you can tell. I have used her for all three of my kids’ birthdays and she has done an outstanding job every time! They have always been beautiful and delicious works of art! Thank you so much May!!!

Sweet May's Bakery is one of the best Bakery on Liberty Avenue you get nothing but fresh cakes. The owner got my order on point she will sure get my business again. I called her up the night before I needed a 4 layer cake and OMG she was so sweet and amazing. I gotta love her!❤❤❤❤❤❤

This review is nothing against May. She's always been pleasant to work with and we've ordered about 4 cakes from her now and they've all been delicious. I'm not sure if there is an intern working her phones and counter now, but I picked up a cake I pre-ordered for my cousins baby shower and definitely received the correct cake. I paid in full in advance and also called the day before and day of to make sure all is well and i can come get the cake. I arrived 1:30 and got my cake and at 3:30 i started getting phone calls from the bakery. I answered and the lady kept asking me if i picked up the correct cake. I said yes I did and i've dropped it to the party and am on the road. She asks me to take a picture of the cake to send and I said i don't have it, i've already dropped it off. She continues to call me three more times to ask if the cake said Ariana on it, which it didn't. The sixth phone call she asks me to bring the cake back. I told her no I will not bring it back because I paid in full $140 for this cake and it's the cake I ordered. If she sold someone else's cake or gave away Ariana's cake it was not to me. It was very off putting to be asked to bring back a cake that i ordered and paid for, especially if it now would have resulted in the baby shower having no cake. I've recommended this bakery to many family and friends as well as coming in every time i need a cake for an occasion but after this happened, i'm worried if i ever order again I may be the person who's cake isn't there when they get there.

The other reviews about the service here are correct, it is terrible. The woman at the counter could hardly be bothered to lift her eyes from her phone when we stopped by to ask about custom cakes. She actually suggested we place our orders through their facebook page instead. I'd wanted to try some of the sweets they had on display but she was so offputting that we left empty handed. I ended up getting my birthday cake order from Silk Cakes instead and that was great.
