Overall a clean & spacious hotel to stay in, although it can definitely get rowdy most of the time, elevators are ALWAYS broken (they have 15+ floors) , absolutely horrible parking (i literally get a ticket every time i come here) i don’t understand with a hotel that huge how can you not provide parking makes no sense to me .... AND THEIR WIFI CONNECTION IS HORRIBLE EVEN WITH YOUR OWN DATA YOU CANT SURF THE WEB.

Definitely not a great place to stay. Pricing is high too.

The first presentation of the hotel was poor; windows smashed in, dirty floors, broken parts in the elevator. Walking down the hallway to our room we could hear loud explicit noises from other rooms as the doors are definitely not soundproof.-If you have children, this place is definitely NOT safe.-All night we could hear people screaming and whatnot out on the hallways, and there was a heavy tabacco and marijuana smoke in the air.The rooms aren't cleaned regularly, as when we came in the floor was covered in food crumbs and what looked like jam and other things that had definitely been there a very long time. Bedding was dirty and stained, and not fresh and furniture is chipped and beaten up.Went to take a shower on the morning and the water was a deep red-brown color and the pressure was low, and what happened next was like a horror movie; brown tar-like mucus came oozing out of the faucet and filled the shower floor.Bottom line, just don't go here. This was definitely a nightmare for us.

The Umbrella Hotel, which has changed owners, management, names, several times in its brief existence, never really established its reputation as a desirable travel destination. It's a shame because it had a very convenient location to the subways and could have attracted a big audience of travelers looking to save money by staying 20 minutes out of the city. In addition, the noise, constant fighting at all hours of the night, shootings, prostitution and gun/ drug arrests are becoming the norm. This place has to go. It should've been shut down years ago.

Horrible. Rooms are -1 star. Nyc Finest were all over the lobby looking for a guest with a gun. Cigarette burns in the bed covers and all over the furniture. HORRIBLE!!!!

Went to visit a friend last night, I felt so unsafe. I recommend wearing a bulletproof vest. I woke up at 1 am to gun shots. Later in the morning, I greeted by cops who are investigation 3 people shot and one out of the three was fatally shot. Never coming back here again. I never felt so unsafe in my life.

There have been at least THREE SHOOTINGS in this hotel within the past six months. One person was finally killed today, 1/1/21. What a way to start the year! The management of this hotel does not care about its space or this community. Space is rented for all-night parties despite Covid-19 restrictions. Due to all the “activity” our local precinct has had to park a vehicle outside this hotel for months in an attempt to deter whatever is going on here that causes shootings in the first place. Kew Gardens is a quiet, residential community with tree-lined streets and three schools. The Umbrella Hotel needs to be shut down. It’s doing nothing but bring down our community, erode the sense of safety we’ve all had and exhaust the resources of the 102nd precinct. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU’D WANT THIS TO HAPPEN IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

Whenever we spend our holidays and vacations here, this hotel was our choice. The best choice! It's a family-oriented hotel, and the staff was very accommodating and polite. My kids love their pool, and their food in the restaurant was very delectable. The last time we here were last month. We spend our son's birthday, and he enjoyed it so much. Thanks!

We tried to check into this hotel and experienced the worst horrific and quite dangerous and scariest experience ever. When we approached the front desk the staff member only acknowledged my husband John who is white and did not acknowledged me, I am black. When my wife asked questions she was deliberately ignored by the front desk person, while all my questions were answered promptly.Ironically if you are a person of color, you will not be respected or treated without implicit bias and racial discrimination even though the entire hotel is owned and operated by Indians and people of color.Implicit bias and racial discrimination is unacceptable and unfair and unjust and should never be acceptable or tolerated by any business. Racial discrimination leaves scars and pain to the person experiencing this hurtful and harmfulact of violence.Upon entering the hotel lobby, the front desk person was chatting with a fellow co worker And he deliberately and completed ignored us. Which was so unprofessional and disrespectful. Finally he looked up at us and started to check us into the room, the first room raked of smoke and the hallways smellof marijuana. We entered the room and it was dirty and smoky from smoke, we went back to the front desk and explained that we were given a dirty filthy room that smells like smoke, we were give another room. This room was much worst. There was BLOOD on the ground on the ceiling and on the Sheets. We immediately demanded our money back and the front desk person was forcefully trying to deny our immediateBecause of this incident, we were forced to leave immediately and the sad thing was we had no where to go. So we scrambled to find new accommodations. This experience left us traumatized and terrified to experience this horrific incident In beautiful Kew gardens NY.Kew gardens is a beautiful neighborhood, however this hotel is ruining this beautifulCommunity.Best advice DO NOT STAY HERERESPECTFULLYJohn and Gail

It's a great hotel if you are in NY for a short trip.

The rooms are not well kept. The furniture is old. Room lacked a basic chair to work. I had to call the front desk to get the remote for the TV. It took the maintenance man 3 times to get it right. I was so tire that going elsewhere would have been a struggle. The Manager - Gary wouldn't express his last name started a shouting match with me because I express how nasty the room presented. I only stay overnight because of an meeting early the next day. Otherwise, I would never stay at a dump like this again. I knew I should have followed my first mind and stay at the Marriott. I believe the hotel has residents from floor 4 to 9. This is not a place to stay. I am up working early and can't wait to get out of here. I pray that I didn't contract COVID from this stay. Very poor quality hotel. I think the dept of health should give this place a visit.

I have one job which is delivering food to establishments to ease the people staying at this establishment. I traveled from Farrockaway, to kew gardens to delivery two items. Could not get in touch with my client respectfully asked the doorman to call for me the line was busy so i asked respectfully please call again, the response i got was thats not my job. So my question is what is the job of a doorman? Need better employees in this establishment the disrespect is scrutiny from an insignificant piece of humanity

This hotel gets 0 stars. I live down the street in the neighborhood of Kew Gardens. Over the last two months there have been three shootings at this hotel. There is such an issue with this hotel that there is a protest planned for Sunday, 8/23 to call for action to be taken. The owners and management of this hotel have ignored all questions and requests for comment from the local news media as well as our state and local elected officials. This place must be shut down.

This is true according to comments.Shootings at night, I slept well thanks to my deafness.
