We just finished a 3 hour hike in Kingston and needed sustenance before driving back to Ithaca. Skyview was the closest option. We drove up at 2pm and there were no cars and the place looked closed. There was an open sign, and we entered. No one was there! Prior reviews gave it a 4.6, so we stayed. Glad we did. Our waiter was really nice and the food was delicious. Took a while to get our order, but that was because they made our meal instead of warning stuff up. Hope they stay in business. With a tip, our lunch was $50, so it isn't cheap. I would go back.

Made a random stop at this restaurant with my family on our road trip and we are so glad we did. Everything from the food, drinks, service, atmosphere and the people were just on point. The food was just so fresh, the shrimp tacos and burrito trio are a must try. Our server was very friendly and made our experience great. Definitely coming back here.

Perched at the top, for years when hubs and I'd made the curve from I-87 into Rt 28 in this area,, we'd always notice the SKYTOP neon sign. But that Steakhouse has been lonnnnng gone and made way for Sky View Mexican Res't. We'd just gotten in under an hour before closing on a Thursday night and were welcomed with a smile and open arms. This bright, unfussy restaurant offers all the crowd-pleasing classics you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant (think guacamole, tacos, margaritas, etc) but made with their own tasty flair. The ceilings are high and the space is big. I'd like to come here during the day just for old times' sake (though the surrounding feel outside has changed). Chips+Salsa complimentary did the job and the Guacamole, came out like a minute after we ordered. Hmmm. Plus it was filled with A LOT of big, diced tomatoes. My Tamarind frozen Margarita with a tajin rim, was something special. So if you aren't opting for a frozen margarita with your Mexican meal, then you just aren't doing it right. Just make sure you ask for your drink to be strong- otherwise, it won't do the job. The Tamarindo used here is so true- and you won't get any of that bottled "mixer" shit. The tajin was great- I mean...this was a sure-shot hit. Hubs decided on the Shrimp-Beef-Chicken Fajita mix- which he loved. There was so much of it, he ended bringing some home. My garlic shrimp was done in a seasony and tasty sauce and the accompanying rice side, was on point. Kernels had a nice firm feel- and thank goodness it wasn't mushy. This place may not be the most talked about or offers boundary-pushing dishes- but service from Maria was great and the food was good too.
That most amazing food hands down!!! Great staff and beautiful food. You have to get the scallop stuffed clams!!!

When we arrived, it was really nice. Lovely view of the valley below which we could see from the table we chose. Service was prompt. Food was generous and fresh and quite good, though totally lacking in any kind of heat (and I don't particularly like spicy food, but this had absolutely none). The problems were at the end.The moment the check was dropped we were forgotten. I put my card in the book, sticking out and obvious, but the server didn't come by until my companion waved it around much later. When the server ran it, it included this bogus "Customer Service Charge." The menu says there will be a service charge for parties of six or more, but there were two of us. Apparently they just pass credit card fees on to the customers, and I'm not entirely sure that's legal. It's certainly not ethical to do it without warning. To top all that off, at the bottom of the check there was a suggested tip chart with the percentages calculated on the total including the tax and this fee. That's super unethical. Tips are calculated on the total before tax. I was a server for years. Do not play this game with me.So they lost stars in a huge way for inflating the check. I will never return or recommend this restaurant.

Went here today for the first time and everything was great. We were a little hesitant because the restaurant wasn't super busy, but 4:30 can be a quiet time for places. The drinks were great, probably the best sangria I've ever had. Complimentary chips and salsa were fresh, bright and tasty. Our meals were also very good, I had a couple annoying special requests (due to some food allergies) and our server not only knew the menu, but was able to bring everything out with my silly specifications. The service was fast, our server was great, and the view of outside as well as the decor inside made for great ambiance. Would highly recommend.
Food, drink, atmosphere,cleanness, and the cook's 5star.
