“We tried this place out curiosity and fell in love from the first bite. We love the story behind this bakery and that it’s one man and his passion and creativity for dessert against the world. There are special details to everything that elevate the experience from start to finish. We’ve tried basically everything on the menu and would get everything again and again. The butter and shortbread cookies - we never leave home without them. Their cakes are the only ones we use for for family special occasions. We get the vanilla tea cakes on weekends. This place shows me how great life could be if we all lived in our passions. “

“Bread & Cocoa's owner, Laurie, has a smorgasbord of carb delights. And of course, there are lots of chocolate goodies at this bakery on Boston Post Rd in Larchmont, NY. Truth be told, if you live nearby or just happened to be in the area like I was, Bread & C. should be at the top of your list to visit. Not because the owner will gladly give you something on the house because you only carry your card and don't have enough cash on you to pay for your entire order. But because that's how she is. And, it happened to me. You can tell right of the bat, Laurie has a passion for offering pastries and pleasing their customers. Regardless, Bread & C. has probably gained a lot of attention for the Croissants, Macarons, Cookies, etc. I seriously think though it's because of her Parisian-inspired Hot Chocolate. You're in for a treat. If you know me on Yelp, then you know I haven't had coffee in like umpteen years and when I go for Hot Chocolate or Hot Cocoa, it better be orgasmic. This was it. Top-quality chocolate is used because after all, this is Larchmont. The end result was the perfect balance of rich flavors and silky texture. It's a treat that was both comforting and luxurious. It almost transported me right to a cozy Parisian café on a crisp winter's day. It's a small place but it's mighty and so worth the trip!“

“Very low-key and cute place. I had their "Fancy grilled cheese" which was super yummy, not as filling as I'd like for the price but delicious nonetheless. Their vanilla latte w/ oat milk was SO good I wanted more, been thinking about it all day. I also really enjoyed their game selection. My friend and I stayed and played for a while. “Raphaël's is far and away the best bakery I've ever been to. To begin with, the quality of the food is absolutely top notch across the board. I never had anything less than delicious from there and they offer a wide variety of options. From traditional French baked goods to chocolate matzo toffee bars to chocolate cookie croissants, there's always something for everyone. The ingredients are also high quality and they don't pack in any junk or preservatives (unlike grocery store bought bread which has an unnaturally long shelf life). I also love how easy is it to get here. They're right off Greenwich Ave and the area is quiet and serene. Well, quiet- ish. Since the day they opened their doors, Raphaël's often has a line out the door. Which is amazing because they opened their doors during Covid in middle of the winter - when most businesses were failing and closing. That should tell you something right there. Still, they're very efficient with checking out patrons and the line moves pretty fast so don't let that scare you away. It's absolutely worth the few minute wait if theres a line. I think Raphaël's continues to be so popular not just because they have great baked goods and a lovely location but they're also the nicest people I've ever met. The bakery is run by a wonderful French family that makes every visit here such a pleasure. If you want to support a local business while enjoying the best croissant you'll ever eat, you need to stop by Raphaël's. You will not regret it.“

The food is incredible (I'm most partial to the croissants). From the coffee to the breakfast offerings to the truffles, I haven't had something I didn't think was excellent. “These are all my cookies i have ever gotten from crumbl. They were all delicious. Cannot eat a whole cookie in one sitting tbh but that is not a bad thing at all! That means I can savor the cookie over a period of time woo! My favs from the times I've got crumbl were blueberry cheesecake, snickerdoodle cupcake, cannoli and cinnamon square! “Can’t sing their praises high enough, the man and woman who work behind the counter here every day always know your order, greet you with a friendly good morning and treat everyone with respect. They work hard and obviously care about their customers. I even started learning some Albanian words and phrases to show the care and respect is mutual. Every single one of my guests said it was the best cake they’ve ever had in their entire lives. Taste was 10 out of 10 it’s rare you get a place that is capable of doing exquisite decoration, but also not compromising the deliciousness of the cake because you can’t have a nice looking cake that tastes terrible and vice versa. Lulu did not fail to deliver. It was a cake out of a magazine. “My first time trying this place since it changed its name. We ordered tamales, tacos and a torta. Tamales taste authentic, much larger than what I’m used too, but that’s a plus. Torta had a lot of meat, very good. Tacos were also very good, and loaded with meat. I enjoyed the salsa verde and the spicy red salsa as well. I’ve been hoping for a good authentic Mexican spot in Whitestone so I don’t have to drive to College Point or Corona, so glad I gave this place another chance.“

The plum salad with the citrus beet dressing was amazing. Like so fresh and we couldn’t get enough of that dressing!!! And I loved the shaved fennel salad too…my daughter doesn’t like fennel so, more for me!!! Both great choices that I enjoyed within the next day or two.The bundtlets were ultra moist and traveled well and were still moist and delectable a few days later. Definitely worth trying if in the area.Just A Note:If you purchase a few flavors to try at a later time. Remove them from the refrigerator, and let them come to room temperate for the optimal taste experience.“

We asked the owners to bake us cakes and cupcakes for my daughter's first birthday and my son's Baptism and both cakes were so beautifully baked, delicious and exactly what we wanted! “They saved my sons birthday! We just got back from vacation and were scrambling to get his party together. I thought I had everything planned but an hour before ppl were to arrive, I realized I forgot his cake (i know - insanity with back to school chaos). “Had coffee & tea early in the morning with a friend two days ago—fabulous tea service and the cappuccino was just right.Went back later with my son--he LOVED their chicken club sandwich. What's not to love? It was a generous portion. Plenty of chicken and amazing sauce on the side and FRESH french fries. Service was more than attentive. The waitress was lovely and when I looked up for a moment just to take in the beautiful space, a male server stepped over to see if I needed anything. Asked me if I needed lemon or honey with the tea-- that impressed me. Usually you have to ask for everything. Also lovely attention to details with the choice of dishes and cutlery and variety of cups for drinks. Lots of options for pastries as well. Will go back again this weekend for sure! Great job!“
