I love Yoshi Sushi! If you're there at lunchtime do not miss the lunch special... 12.95 as of March 2024. See my picture... it's a creative repurposing of items left over from the previous day plus some rolls and nigiri. That fish under the sesame seeds is a slab of miso black cod.... incredible and worth the price all by itself!

My opinion is that Yoshi sushi is the best Sushi restaurant around . The fish is always fresh and delicious. Each different fish has its correct color and texture and individual flavor; clean and fresh. I eat sushi regularly and have tried most of the local restaurants. None of them stand up to Yoshi's standards.

Personally, my favorite authentic sushi experienc, hands down. I have been coming here since I was in college, when it was in my staple of lunch options, and it was my first experience with sushi outside of supermarket offerings. The fish is always super fresh and delicious. I've seen options here that I don't see in a lot of other popular venues and swear by my favorites: tamago, New York roll (that crisp bite of fresh sliced apple!! Why do other places not do this?), And spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna is not that horrid mayo affair you find at other restaurants, but delicious and bright red with what I believe is sriracha). I have had Yoshi obligingly create a spicy tekka don for me because I am so obsessed with his version of spicy tuna. I have yet to find anyone else's spicy tuna that comes close. Yes, it is a small establishment and yes, you do have to wait for your food depending on how busy it is, but like another reviewer said, it is a mom and pop establishment so come with that expectation. I love this place and am perfectly content to wait for my sushi because I know how amazing the taste is. My only dilemma now is figuring out a way to get up here more often so I don't have to settle for other, inferior sushi places!

Wish this place was bigger :( I’d bring a huge group here because the sushi is such high quality. Especially the spicy salmon and tuna, usually it’s ground up but this place serves real pieces of fresh fish. And it’s actually spicy!!! Unlike a lot of western influenced places. I highly recommend coming here for authentic, genuine, and high quality rolls. I consider myself a sushi connoisseur (been eating sushi all my life all over the country) and this place definitely took my #1 spot.

Casual dining and great food. Prices are reasonable. Not many authentic sushi places in the area, Yoshi Sushi is authentic. We will be back.

Authentic sushi place run by Japanese chef, just like you will have in Japan. Quality of food is great. Service is not actively, but it’s good to be just quiet and focus on food. Only question is no alcohol drink at all? Not even beer. That is kind strange.

I love it here! I come regularly now. I get the Kampai plate… I think about it a lot when I’m not there. So delicious!! Worth the wait if there is one. I have a hard time eating other local sushi now- quality is just not the same.

Best sushi in the Albany area. Quiet, unassuming restaurant that beats every other sushi place I've been this north of NYC. Don't make the mistake of going somewhere flashier. It's still BYOB, but who cares- food is amazing. We loved all the spicy salmon and tuna rolls. Gyoza was perfect and the yellowtail, you'll need more than one order.

This place is a local gem and one of my favorite restaurants in the Capital District! This is the authentic sushi restaurant I prefer and where I send my Japanese friends who visit the area. It feels exactly like some of the casual sushi restaurants I've been to in Tokyo. It is quiet, understated, and usually fairly empty. I can't believe this place isn't packed all the time. Overall the sushi has a more informal, perhaps rustic feel than you might find at other places. The freshness and the flavors are phenomenal. For the sushi, the eel (unagi) here is notably good. If you're feeling adventurous, I recommend ordering the special, whatever it is. I've been pleasantly surprised every time. One time the special was hamachi kama (yellowtail collar) which was so good I am still thinking about it weeks later. I recommend ordering some miso soup and, if you are ordering a special, get a side of rice as these are not included with the meal. Highly recommended!

Authentic food - served by a Japanese gentleman. Clean and quiet ambiance. Service was excellent. I would definitely go there again for sushi. Reasonable price. Plenty of parking in front of the restaurant.

It's still the best sushi in the area and it's not close.

High quality and very fresh sushi prepared by an experienced chef. We have been going to Yoshi's for over ten years and are never disappointed with the food. We get the shogun entree and love the sweetened egg and tuna roll.

I called in to ask a quick question because I’ve never been to this location before, they were extremely rude on the phone, yelled at me and hung up quickly. So
