Yesterday, I met my long time friend George (Owner of Casserino Photography Studio) for lunch at Il Bacco in Little Neck two blocks from where I grew up … George and I met in 1980 when he moved here from DC … we worked for the same photography studio, Barkley’s in Forrest Hills Gardens … we became fast friends … our friendship & connection has stood the test of time even when it years or decades that we do not see each other face to face … we talk on the phone and that’s been awesome … it was so good to see you George and you look fabulous … for lunch we had Caprese Salad, Baked Clams & specially prepared Pork Chops (I haven’t had one in over 20 years) … the food was outstanding … I met the owner John who was a terrific & hospitable guy … Jennifer who was the Hostess was also fantastic … the bartender & waiter are absolute gems … I also met Brad & Chris at the bar while waiting for George … we talked and I shared my story … Brad bought me a bourbon and we all toasted to life … it was such a beautiful experience … new people and my long time friend … a stupendous lunch … I highly recommend Il Bacco … you will absolutely be satisfied … LIVE LOVE LAUGH & EAT ALWAYS … ????#CancerFree2024 #EyeOnTheFuture #LiveLoveLaughAlways #CancerWarrior #cancersurvivor #bestfriendsforever #diningout #ItalianRestaurant

Came here for a birthday party - we were upstairs and the space was beautiful! The food was buffet style but SO flavorful. Would definitely come here to see how service/dinner is.

We were invited to have dinner here on a Friday evening. Reservations for 8 at 6:30pm. Parking was valet or finding a spot on the street (not easy, read the signs carefully). We were seated at a comfy round table towards the back. The walls filled with awesome photos and autographs. The lighting dim. The people friendly. The bar had some customers and there were not a lot of tables filled at this time. Our waiter was awesome. He retcited the specials by memory and was on top of every detail throughout the evening. We were not rushed. Drinks came out at the same time as the bread, olives, fresh cut chunks of parmasean cheese, prosciutto and soppressata. All delicious. The apps were fried calamari, grilled octopus and baked clams. Calamari hot and delicious. The clams were devoured. The octopus was not what we usually get in other restaurants. It was very soft, almost mushy and coated in a balsamic glaze. The least favorite part of the meal for me. Soup was ordered as well...Pasta fagioli. Again, not what we're used to, but it was hot and tasted good. Many kind bussers came to the table very often to pick up plates, put new ones down, refresh drinks, fill waters, offering grated cheese and fresh pepper. Main entrees consisted of a stuffed lobster over spaghetti in a fra diavlo sauce, a spinach/cheese ravioli in a pink cream sauce, chicken parm, penne a la vodka, chicken gelsomina, a red snapper special, a stuffed rigatoni with meatball special and penne with tomato sauce. Almost everyone took food home because of all of the food that came before. Not one complaint. We digested as much as we could, still not rushed at this point, as the restaurant started to fill up from 8pm on. Desserts and espressos were ordered. Italian cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake, tiramisu, cannoli (2 to an order), and a tortoni. The chocolate mousse cake won this round with the cannolis coming in 2nd. The tiramisu's lady fingers were not soaked and it lacked flavor but was still fresh and disappeared. My apologies for not taking more pictures. We were enjoying the food and each other. I find it hard to give 5 stars these days, but I truly enjoyed everything about this place and can't wait to go back!
I was there in 2012 and I am very sad to note that they are still in business years later! An abomination, eat and you will be
