My wife and I went out to lunch today in Locust Valley, NY. Last July, the LVI Bistro changed owners. Marcel has owned the restaurant for over 40 years. They had an excellent reputation and their food and serve was always high quality. This was our first visit since the change and we found it was quite good. We sat down in the bar room and was greeted by the new manager, Andrea. He was very nice and gave us their new menus. Everything looked great from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts. My wife wanted something light, so she ordered a Cesar salad with grilled chicken strips. I ordered a hamburger with fries. Rita, a waitress from the previous owner, chatted with us about the change and was very positive. There is a new chef, who prepares the food and has a quick turnaround. Both our meals were delicious and were served hot. We talked with the manager and he told us they were going to decorate and renovate the formal dining, the upstairs dining area and the bar room area. We were excited that this local restaurant was getting some loving care from the new owners.We enjoyed our lunch time and enjoyed our experience at the LVI Bistro. When we asked for the check, Andrea brought a dish of tiramisu with two spoons. He told us the desserts were all homemade. It was excellent and was a great way to end our meal.This is a new LVI Bistro and they made a great first impression on both of us. If you're in the Locust Valley area please make some time and try the new LVI Bistro. The service, the food and the atmosphere is great for a meal with two or ten people. The Locust Valley Bistro was recently sold and will become an Italian Restaurant. We ate there last night and were disappointed. The old menu is gone. I should have know it wasn't going to be good when we had the bread. I ordered the Sauerbraten and my wife the Chicken Milanese . Mine was basically pot roast with none of the classic ginger flavor. The red cabbage was better than most. The potato pan cakes (while not like mom's) were OK. My wife's dish was a breaded chicken cutlet served with lettuce and a dab of mushrooms. She said it was dry. The waiter forgot to bring the appetizers. What a shame we used to like to go here

I had a a German meal veal cutlet fried, potato pancakes red cabbage I can’t remember name. Meal was out of this world great I eat out 7 nights a week my wife had some kind of lobster dish. Great also. Chef amazing. What ever highest rating is 5 stars they deserve it

The LVI Bistro never disappoints!! Everything is delicious, firecracker shrimp, sole franchaise, chicken cordon bleu, YUM! The staff is very friendly, helpful, and covid conscious. Sunday nights are a great time with John behind the bar, he makes 'em strong. Love this local spot!! 10/10

Whenever I I need a good lunchon, this is the place that comes straightaway to my mind. fresh and food and a large list of dishes.professional team, and great atmosphere. And very important, the pay is reasonable. I praise this place with no hesitation.

We met with friends at this spot for a meeting. we heard about this spot from quite a few people. Well, it was very nice. the staff members were so friendly and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Recommended.
