Had my babyshower 08/05/23 party was fun but unfortunately the service was awful. First person i spoke with was sandra who was very respectful and helpful, answered all my questions therefore i have no complaints for her. As the date came closer erica called me to confirm everything i had to bring in and proceeded saying that NO outside liquor is allowed in the venue which is fine but she didnt even suggest that the hotel can order it so there fore i called sandra and it was resolved meaning i had to purchase liquor from the hotel. Once the party date came i saw that sandra wasnt there so i called her and unfortunately she was taken away from helping me at the party. Aside from that my dad and i went early and to begin with they had about 8 lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling as if they were being fixed , therefore my dad said something and until then they had someone come and place them in place yet there still was no light where the food area was. Secondly erica then called me stating that i had a balance left when i clearly paid everything off so aside from sending sandra and the boss (david) proof of the payment she still stated i owed money which i didnt. After that i finally met erica in person and she proceeded in asking what are the type of people i have invited but she doesnt want things to go wrong, she didnt ask once or twice she asked 3 times to a point where i told her she sounds traumatized. Once the party started i asked if she can put the AC on being that they had itat 74 degrees and just lowered it to 70 degrees stating that if she lowers it more that it’ll be freezing and that the ventilation will be frozen . Aside from the AC not working erica then comes up to me insisting i should get security being that i had 150 guest when i clearly had a security paid for in the invoice after i told her. Then my dad told her to get the 3 wine bottles he paid for and erica proceeded on saying they were never paid for and therefore we pulled out the receipt where we were charged for it and she had the employees get wine last minute. My dad and i still went over the receipt and saw we were charged $180 for 2 sangrias which we never got because erica said it was never paid for when clearly we did. As all of this was going on i mentioned to her about the AC again and she brought out small fans where she didnt even know where to plug them not put them will my family is using plates as a fan ( so embarrassing ) towards the end of the night i saw a couple walking into my event trying to take drinks therefore i approached them and they said they thought it was part of the hotel so i kicked them out . So aside from spending thousands of dollars on this place they allowed strangers coming into my event taking things from us and still didnt get my security!!!!! Like i said party was fun but service was horrible. All they look for is money.

I've only been there once, attended a baby shower. The room was nice ,it had a three section lounge area & held about 12 tables to which around eight to ten people could sit white wash design. The bathroom was close by. It had a bar area space to dance and a area for your food to be served. nice atmosphere.

Surf Room Catering did a spectacular job for our wedding! David was incredibly easy to work with and helped us along each step of the way - from organizing a tasting, assisting with understanding our contract, and with all of our pre-wedding coordination and questions. The food was delicious and tables were set perfectly. Staff on the day of our event was professional, efficient, and friendly to us and all of our guests. We could not be happier with our choice for a wedding caterer and will continue to recommend you to our friends and family.

Since the Surf Room at the Long Beach Hotel closed I have been heartbroken. Their food was absolutely delicious. I recently learned that they are operating as a caterer and I was ecstatic. I had them cater my daughter's Sweet Sixteen and it was an amazing hit.

Since the Surf Room at the Long Beach Hotel closed I have been heartbroken. Their food was absolutely delicious. I recently learned that they are operating as a caterer and I was ecstatic. I had them cater my daughter's Sweet Sixteen and it was an amazing hit. Rather than doing a traditional plated dinner, we opted for a cool combination of stations and butler passed signature dishes - and what a hit that was with our guests! The party never stopped as the chefs kept the food coming and made sure no one was ever hungry! Their creative dishes were tailored to our exact tastes, with a little something for everyone: the evening started out with a beautiful cheese and charcuterie station, followed by small plates of rum-runner bacon wrapped shrimp, tomato tartar, braised short ribs and white cheddar grits, smoked gouda mac n' cheese, southern fried chicken sliders (these were the universal favorite) and so much more! A chip and dip bar was also a huge hit, along with a coffee and tea station that kept our guests fueled for the dance floor so that we could keep up with the 16 year olds! We even decided to do a grand finale dessert station instead with a cake and, again, it was an absolute winner with our guests! Our guests still are talking about how amazing the food was - and how cool it was that it was always accessible either by station or via a server. Surf Room Catering was prompt, professional and the servers and staff were beyond courteous. The entire proposal, including the booking and planning process was a breeze, and every expectation was met (and exceeded). The service, quality and presentation simply cannot be beat, and the creativity with which the dishes are prepared is in a class by itself. This is THE caterer for any function!

Great food, and atmosphere. Had the chicken tangine, braised lamb, samosas, lamb meatballs. All were delicious. Our waiter Chris was great in guiding us through the menu. It was disappointing That they were out of a few wines and I was unable to order my wife the only wine she likes, pino Grigio. How is that possible that a restaurant runs out of pino Grigio? Took a star off for that.

Is this place still in business? It opens Wednesday and Sunday night only. I don't care how good the food is, will not take another trip to this restaurant.

Have had dinner here at least a dozen times since they opened about three years ago since I live a few blocks away. Can truly state I have never been disappointed and surprised to read any negative reviews. We had the prime rib and duck and kufta kebab on our last visit along with the grouper and cauliflowers apps and loved it.

Awful service and very rude staff! They didn't even have menus for us when they seated us and we had to ask for water. The apps were pretty good but my skirt steak was inedible. I was choking on it, that's how dry and overlooked it was. I asked for some sauce for it and told the waiter how dry it was but he didn't offer to switch it and he forgot to bring the sauce for 10-15 minutes so but the time we reminded him, the steak was then cold, over cooked and dry. Also, I couldn't even finish my glass of wine because the rude hostess kicked us out. We were the last ones there but it wasn't even late. So wrong!

The food was delightfully tasty, but the service was miserable. Fewer than half the tables were full yet staff were frazzled as if every table was packed with lines around the corner... they didnt even have enough menus for us... So tired of kosher establishments that just dont know how to interface with guests... I also dont need staff to let me know how stressed they are - I am coming for a relaxing dinner out... not to have staff stress deflected onto me. Kosher world - get your **** together! Just serve a nice meal with a smile, serve all guests apps and entrees together and dont clear the table until everyone is done - this is not rocket science...

The food was amazing! It's gourmet fare, great ambience in a beautiful setting. Manhattan quality kosher restaurant in Long Beach. Everything was perfect and the staff were great. There was a slight delay in our main courses because the kitchen was serving a wedding in the hotel and the staff came over to us to apologize, gave us free drinks and the wait was nothing compared to the typical wait in restaurants near us.

Loved loved loved the Surf Room. It's in an old hotel in Long Beach but when you walk into the restaurant it's like another world. The decor is wonderful, great ambience. The walls are designed to look like waves, the ceiling like underwater bubbles and the chairs as if they are made from driftwood. A lot of thought went into the decor. The service was great and the food is gourmet, amazing kosher food. Everything we tried was perfect, subtly flavored and just incredible. It's hard to believe an upscale Manhattan- level restaurant in Long Beach, best of all without Manhattan prices. I could go on and on just about the Montauk grouper fishcakes. Enjoy!!
