We were there last night. The food and service were great. The best part is that the musician who was performing had patrons come up to sing with him. So much fun. Candy, the owner, even sang and blew us all away. We had such a blast!

The worst..Food is pricey understaffed. Waited hours for everything from silverware to a drink. Still waiting a day later.Owner booked a singles party and the town had a parade. Thought she didn't need staff . She was a hot mess.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews but I had to say a few words about this place. My girlfriend found it on restaurant.com with a coupon. I’m always wary about coupons restaurants because you’re probably going to a place that needs more traffic since it’s not doing too well. We wanted to get a small meal for a fair dinner price (and we had a coupon). We get there and there is no waiter, and the place is pretty empty. Not a good sign. The owner comes over to us, hands us menus, and then proceeds to tell us about specials and other food items. We decide to go with steak tacos and quesadillas which weren’t on the menu. And she also convinced us to get a few drinks. Food was pretty good, but the owner was too pushy on what we should be ordering. And I didn’t like that we weren’t told how much things were going to cost. It doesn’t feel great to be convinced to get something the place recommends and then be hit with an 100$ bill. Not sure how quesadillas and tacos can cost that much… but when at the cafe you take a mortgage. Also she didn’t accept credit cards which was very unprofessional of an eatery. I had to send her a venmo payment which made me very uncomfortable. Glad we had a coupon which brought the bill down $5! ?

Not sure how everyone is having such a sour experience. I went early in the morning with my grandmother. We were the first ones to walk in. The feel of the restaurant is very calm and artsy, the service was super friendly, and the food was really good! I ordered the Buddha wrap and I for once finished a dish. If I were staying in the area longer I would def stop by again!

Stopped in at 7pm on a Wednesday for a quick drink while waiting for a Sorrentos pie. 2 of the 4 beer taps were out, so me and wife ordered tequila sodas. They only had this no name brand tequila. As the bartender was making a drink, we noticed a nice sized spill on the bar and empty used glasses and grime all over. All of the bottles & bar equipment were in random places. We were the only ones there btw. Bartender puts tequila and soda in a shaker and shakes it, rendering all carbonation. When he pours it from shaker, one glass gets mostly ice, one gets 2 cubes. Did not put lemon or lime in, and then places 2 small black stirrers on the dirty bar next to the drinks as if we were ever going to touch them.Drinks came out to $22, so we gave him 2 20s, and he asks if we want change lol. He couldn't break a 20, so he had to run across the street to the deli to break it.This place gave me weird vibes and after reading other reviews I see why. Likely wont return to try food. Poorly run and disorganized.

Mike Sandwich and Atlantica play at the Cafe on Saturday Nights during the summer and fall. It's a great spot to see members of those bands jam out!

Strange...just strange. My friend and I were waiting for the Jetty to open for brunch so we thought we would grab a drink somewhere else while we wait. We were even considering other spots for brunch since we weren't married to any particular option. Unfortunately, our experience made us not want to stick around and we ventured on. As we were walking by and peering in to check out the scene, a man standing outside the restaurant with his bike said something like "Go ahead, they're open". It didn't look like he was affiliated with the restaurant but later on it seemed like he knew the DJ. Yes there was a DJ set up by the bar, but they were playing jazz music. Now I love jazz but to me this was a tiny bit odd. I'm use to seeing live jazz on premise. But that was the least of our worries. We then went to order brunch cocktails and they have a great selection. To switch it up a bit and because it was on the menu, we ordered two Bellinis. It felt like it too over a half hour for our drinks. A Bellini is champagne and peach juice/purée. The champagne was poured but it took forever for them to get to finishing our very simple drink. The purée was in the fridge under the bar. Again no they much of a stretch, but it seemed like a tall order. The bar seemed to be run by two people, both a man and a woman. The place itself wasn't crowded but he seemed like the two of them as well as the other staff seemed overwhelmed. We finally got our Bellinis and after waiting an exorbitant amount of time to get these two simple drinks, we were pitched on staying for brunch. This might have been considered if we didn't see the kitchen staff berate the front of the house right in front of customers. It really left a bad taste in our mouth. The Bellini was fine...and as soon as we finished it we dropped some money at the bar and left. Definitely disappointing because it has potential.

I don't like to leave negative reviews unless the experience warrants it but this was one of the worst meals I've had in Long Beach and possibly Long Island. We should have taken the hint when we walked up on a Saturday night and, while surrounding restaurants were all packed, this place was nearly empty. We sit down outside since the indoor section had loud music playing. After a while, the owner(?)/ server Candy came over to take our 3 orders (a burger, fish and chips with a summer salad, and the chicken francese, nothing super complicated) and 3 Arnold Palmer mojitos. I went to the (questionably clean) bathroom and found out the hard way that the lock on the door didn't work. I came back to the only redeeming part of the meal which was the fresh croissants that were actually very good. Had I know we were in for an hour+ wait on the food coming out, I'd have rationed the croissant and drinks accordingly (our waters were never refilled). Our "Arnold Palmer half and half mojitos" came out which were mostly ice, some lemon, mint leaves and some type of alcohol in a small mason jar (a massive rip off for $15). The owner kept coming over to tell us our food was about to come out soon over the course of an hour which was very strange since we were really the only ones there dinning (besides a few people at the bar and out on the patio who all already had food and I assumed were either employees/friends of the owner because she kept going over to talk to them). The food came out and was mediocre at best. Parts of my ($30+ burger) were cold, and others very hot and the fries were just disappointing. The fish and chips were described as "hush puppies without any seasoning" and the Chicken pasta dish was a pool of sauce with some pasta and chicken in it. While a disappointing end to the meal, we weren't done yet. Right as we're finishing up the food, another round of drinks shows up, that had been ordered much earlier while we waited for the food (again, at this point there's nobody else there, so there's no excuse for drinks to take THAT long but hey what's another $50 on the bill right?). Now that were done eating, we arrive at my favorite part of the meal, the check. Candy arrives with the bill and announces that they don't take credit cards, just cash and Venmo like we're at some bodega in Queens. At this point I've already been embarrassed taking 2 new business partners here, so what's a little more, we do a tableside Venmo transaction. It's at this point that I notice a $41 "custom item" at the bottom of the bill (along with prices that I only now realize were slightly more than on the menu) that turned out to be the "tip" Candy automatically put on there for a table of 3 (which kind of just soured me in the way that it was done since I would have tipped more anyway despite the atrocious service). Overall, Bad food, bad service, bad location, and bad vibes. Will not be going back, nor recommending to any of my LB friends.Kid-friendliness: Not a good place to take kids.Parking: None available nearby, even later in the night. Had to park a few blocks away and walk. Seems like it's meant for locals who walk there?

I was extremely disappointed by this restaurant. We came in when there were less then 5 people in the establishment and had to wait ages for anything to come out, both food and drink. The food seemed pricey but not overly so for the area. The meal started off well so I was expecting good things, but the warm croissants did not make up for all 3 of our entrees being terrible. Then, to top it off gratuity was automatically applied to the bill as a food item, and we were asked to pay the check by a person to person Venmo transaction. So not only was the food and service bad, but it was sketchy financially. Just go somewhere else.Parking: There’s no parking anywhere close

Any one who follows me on Google Maps knows that I loathe leaving bad reviews. That being said, my friend and I wish we had gone some place else. The food was OK, the service left a lot to be desired, and lesson learned.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor entrance, lots of space between tables.

This place is absolutely horrible oh my gosh. Upon first walking in there was a band playing and honestly they were the best part. We sat down and right away someone came to take our order and as soon as we were getting ready to state what the wanted the server boy goes “wait one minute I forgot something” leaves then comes back and finally took our order. We ordered and I kid you not it took over an hour for the food to come. We ordered tea and coffee and the coffee came cold … twice .. the food was alright but definitely not worth the money. If you’re looking for a brunch spot I’m sorry but I honestly would not come here and I honestly wish I had read the reviews before I came. This place seriously needs Gordon Ramsey to come stop by. They need allll the help they can get. Great band though, the music was lovely.
