This place is called something else now. Skip the gelato unless you want bland flavors and chunks of ice. The decor is bizarre with seven different sets of chairs. Haven't tried the new Italian food, but I am speculating that if it's anything like the gelato, it's a bad diner with a waterfront view.

I ordered a pizza online for pick up, they charged me and it was closed. How come is this app efficient? How am I getting my money back? So frustrating!

I went to Gantry Plaza Park to take pictures of Manhattan across the river. We had dinner at Piatto to take pictures of the late afternoon and the night view. I had spaghetti and risotto. It tasted really impressive. It reminded me of the food I ate on my trip to Italy. The taste wasn't too overpowering or spicy, but it had class. The shrimp in spaghetti was the best I've ever had. It was big, firm, really fresh and delicious. When I asked the impressive and friendly owner, he told me that the shrimp were caught in the Gulf of Mexico. Even though I went out and back several times to take sunset and night view photos, I was always greeted with a smile and the staff were very friendly, just like the owner. I definitely want to visit again next time I'm in New York.

Excellent and prompt waitstaff. I ordered the eggplant parm. Eggplant parm itself: 8.0/10. Could use some crisp, but all the flavors were there. I can't knock them bc nowhere really makes crispy eggplant for parm, except a few places. And those that do somehow pull off the crispy eggplant parm feat get the 10. So this is an 8, it was spot on, and above average. Side spaghetti: 7/10. Flavorful but sadly over cooked! All in all, the service takes this to 4/5 star tier, and I'll be back to try the pizza.

So this was recommended to us by some locals that they have good Italian food. We got seated for a table of 6 and ordered JUST food for the table. The foods came out and they looked good from the outside. I ordered Linguine with shrimp and as I took my first bite I didn't get the taste of anything as I was eating it. My cousin ordered a meat lover pizza and I ate a slice as well and we both came to the conclusion that their wasn't any taste in the pizza. Two others said the same thing about their chicken and their pasta. Food isn't that good for starters and when the bill came, TIP was already included and they put a hefty amount to the order so we weren't too happy about that. If your looking for REAL Italian food this place is NOT IT!!!

Our server actively avoided eye contact and serving us. Had to hunt down the server to get the check since no one wanted to take another drink order.

Italian place with no prosecco!! Really bad service, bad mix in cocktails. Did not taste food.

I’m surprised this place is still open. I only goOut of convenience because I live next door. The food is mediocre, the decor is tacky like a suburban pizza joint, and the service is nothing special. They also don’t honor their listed hours and close the kitchen earlier than listed. Given that the place is empty most of the time, you’d think they’d appreciate having customers. I won’t be returning again no matter how desperate I am for convenience.

Piatto is located across the street from park, which is convenient. My son and I had the entire place to ourselves, which seemed sad. The waiter was very polite and attentive. We shared a pizza. It wasn't anything special. I'd like to try other items from the menu, and I'll probably return here again.

I took my mom to Piatto for her Birthday. She loves Italian food, isn't too far from my home, close to the river and dog friendly. Service is good and makes my mom very happy. We start with Grilled Octopus, Crab Cake and fried Calamari & Zucchini. For the second course, we have Seafood risollto, Branzino Puttanesca, Linguini with Clams and Chicken Milanese. My mom loves that pasta and rice cook al dente. We choose to sit outside because we have our dog joining the party. Outside seating has a roof so even it was a bit drizzling, we sit there comfortably. I'm happy that they didn't forget to give my mom a candle for her birthday cake (Tiramisu) I wish they have more dessert wine but at least I enjoy Prosecco.
