Very good authentic sushi in LIC. We sat at the counter and witnessed everything prepared fresh and to order. No wonder at just 5pm this small restaurant was full with patrons. Service was impeccable and friendly.I only wish their sashimi was sliced a tad bigger. The salmon especially was no bigger than an inch.

Chill Japanese restaurant with sushi, ramen and bentos. I’d recommend putting chili oil in the ramen for more flavor. Affordable.

Family run establishment that has been in the neighborhood for years. The food is fresh and pricing is fair. Whenever I have a lunch meeting or family visiting from out of town I bring them here for lunch before heading to the city. They don’t deliver so you’ll have to pick up if you plan on taking it with you. My picks are the salmon and chicken teriyaki bento box. I usually ask for salad instead of rice and a spicy tuna roll instead of the California roll. The spicy tuna, yellowtail and salmon rolls. Everything is always fresh. The ramen is also delicious and my brother’s favorite. Try their fried ice cream too! It won’t disappoint.

I’ve been coming here for 5 years. It’s always been excellent and has only gotten better. I ordered delivery tonight. Sushi and sashimi combination. The quality and freshness of the fish is amazing, and the rice is perfect. This place ranks up with some of the best sushi spots in Manhattan (reminds me of Hatsuhana in Midtowb). It’s expensive but so worth it.

Best sushi with affordable pricing; welcoming and peaceful environment! Everyone is so friendly! Sushi is excellent. Really the only place I go to dine alone near home. Friends from Astoria now have to come over here for it too. Thought about finding sushi in Manhattan after the Guggenheim last weekend but decided to drive back home and go to this trusted spot because we knew we’d be happy. : )

2 of us went in for dinner on a friday night early. we were seated right away, the service was prompt, and everyone was very kind. we ordered a beer and the ramen/sushi dinner special. a small salad came out to start and then we got the vegetable ramen / special sushi, and the pork ramen / spicy tuna roll. everything was fresh and tasty. not the best ramen in the world but the prices were more than fair and we spent about $50 for the both of us which feels like a steal. they brought complimentary green tea to end the meal which was a nice touch. it's a great low key spot to have in the neighborhood for sushi that's walking distance off the dutch kills and 36th st stop.

While low-key and hidden away, Susuki Shokudo is probably the best Japanese restaurant in Queens, and one of my favorite in NYC overall. Such a friendly staff with the cutest decor and excellent food. The chicken cutlet is my favorite. Excellent place for a work-day lunch or a dinner date.

When you have so many options available living in NYC, you know you've found someplace special when you decide to frequent a spot more than once and then even more so if you decide to become regulars. That's what Suzuki Shokudo quickly became for us after we ate there the first time.My partner loves sushi and while I do as well, there are definitely times when I'd prefer to have hot food or other non sushi options while it'd be great for him to get what he likes. Unfortunately, usually good sushi places don't tend to make other menu items that are as tasty or vice versa. This restaurant ended up being the perfect find since it solved our dilemma! They are known for their ramen and sushi sets (choice of ramen with a sushi counterpart: maki roll, sashimi or nigiri), though they have plenty of other entrees, bentos, and sushi/sashimi combos or rolls that you can order! They also have omakase which we tried recently. I'll have this review focus on all of their other food though! We really enjoy their ramen and sushi sets and have tried the salmon and pork belly ramen. The pork belly is definitely our favorite and while the salmon is nice, it's not seasoned much (as you'd expect in a soup) so the pork belly wins out each time. Whenever you order ramen, they also give you chili oil and pepper to add on the side. The chili oil is a nice addition if you like mild spiciness. The sushi addition to the set (they have an option for a roll, or two nigiri options). For appetizers, we've tried a variety and really like their tempura, tako wasa (octopus with wasabi) and their shishito peppers among others. Don't sleep on their specials board since they have some extra items there as well!We also like the hot house sake (Ozeki) when we come. They also serve hot tea (hojicha) with your meal if you ask and not many places do that anymore! We've tried their desserts which are not overly sweet and are very welcome when you're in the mood for something to close out the meal. For other entrees, I've been a fan of their Mini Sukiyaki set (esp good during cold weather) which comes with a side of salmon and avocado which sits on top of rice. We've eaten our way through a good part of the menu but we feel like there's plenty of variety and still loads more to try! We're always so happy every time we come. The service is great and it's so nice to see people who recognize us too. We'll be back soon and will bring others with us as well!
