I came here once a few years back and STILL think about their tacos! My friends and I ordered the spicy chicken tacos with chipotle aoili! OH MY GOD!! it was amazinggg, the chicken was hot so it made the taste just so much better! authentic and fresh food! need to try the birria tacos- looks amazing.

Cold, stale food! This was my worst order since moving to NYC. The delivery was 25 minutes late. When trying to call the restaurant, the phone rang and rang and then someone picked up and hung up immediately. This happened 4 times in a row. Then, when our food finally arrived it was cold. Every tortilla was stale and tough to eat with the exception of the nachos which were mushy and falling apart. The meats in the tacos were bland and dry like they were under a heat lamp for hours.

I have never in my life experienced this kind of, unprofessionalism and complete and utter indifference towards a customer ever. I waited over an hour and a half for my order today and when I called the restaurant, they claimed the order needed an additional 20 minutes to be delivered. I told them that it was already and hour and a half that I had been waiting for my order. After 15 minutes had gone by, delivery.com called me to let me know that this so-called restaurant has cancelled my order. When I called the restaurant, they clearly lied and said that their driver had been in an accident so they couldn’t deliver my food. This has happened to me years before with the same restaurant. Reading the reviews below, I thought they might have changed management. Clearly that didn’t happen and they have continued to tout the same lie and the same u professional, and utter lack of indifference towards their customers. I am so deeply disappointed that I have completely blacklisted this dumpster of a restaurant from my list of places to order food from. I would not be surprised if I walked by tomorrow and saw them shut down because of their inability to function as a proper restaurant should. I wonder how many people have had a similar experience like this because this is not the first time it’s happened to me with this place

Todays' dinner was at Birria/ Metro Taqueria. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and Snapple for approx $14.00 for takeout. Since I was there in 2020 most of the tables are gone. They now offer pizza and burgers in addition to their staples of Mexican dishes. The good news is the price has gone down considerably. last time I was overcharged for a similar dish and the food was cold. However, whoever gave them high recommendations, must be kidding themselves (OFF THEIR ROCKER). The chicken was dry and the restaurant the moment you walk in was dirty. I include a picture of the service counter. There were some other serious issues with food service and preparation. One employees did not wear a mask and the table surfaces were not clean, with no disinfectant

The address posted here is not updated, I called and wanted to go and visit but the address was wrong then on the window there was a sign that said they have moved a cross the street, we crossed the street and there were not there either then I called the number that shows here again and then is when the person who answered let me know that that place was closed. We drove 1 hour to get here and just to find out it was close so frustrating.

Not happy about the food. The tacos were not seasoned well, and the tortilla barely had any consome on it. The side of consome I purchased was okay but could use a little more seasoning. I didn’t get the salsa verse or the coke that I ordered. I called the store to ask about this but they didn’t answer. Not sure I’ll be ordering from here again.

EDITED: While I do NOT recommend ordering via Waheyo's website (they apparently work with a sister restaurant to handle online orders, and their hours as listed in the website did not accurately reflect the hours they were actually open), I thoroughly recommend calling in an order or stopping by! The food is absolutely delicious, and the owner is very accommodating - he wants to make sure all patrons have a good experience. When an online order of mine was not fulfilled one evening, he was quick to reach out the next morning with excellent solutions to be sure I ultimately walked away happy (and with delicious Mexican food!). While the initial online-ordering experience was very unpleasant, the ways in which the owner made it up to me were MORE than sufficient for me to be willing - and eager! - to try the restaurant again in the future.
I ordered some take out due to the rona. When I got home I was seriously upset. The main reason I came was for the empanadas. To my surpise the empanada turned out to be a dessert empanada. It definitely wasn't a cheese one like I ordered. The beef stew was delicious as well. This is a spot I would love to dine in one day. I am disappointed about covid rules. We still have to follow them to be kind to one another. I will however be coming back to try tacos. Just a little advice this area is a little sketchy at night. It's always been that way due to middle America taking over.

The Burrito al caballo is bussin. I've eaten at multiple Mexican spots all over NYC and this place has some fire food. I almost didn't get a picture! Too good.

Ayyyee Yooo! When you walk in you would never expect the punch of flavor they put into their meats!!!!!I had a carne barbacoa burrito, with Arroz con glandules. The meat was so soft and flavorful, rice was perfect not to mention they have mango habanero sauce! So freakin good.My niece had steak nachos. Steak was packed of flavor and so tender ? I also had a side of guacamole which was aight. Definitely my new go to Mexican spot here in LIC!

Disappointing. I ordered guac and it was not fresh, came dark and soggy. They should inform of the ingredients better. Authentic guacamole has only avocado and lemon juice, that's it. This place added a lot of stuff in the guacamole that was not mentioned on the menu description. The Pork roasted lunch special was extremely soggy, doggy rice, soggy tomatoes, plantains refried and not fresh. Seems they just give you old food if you order online. Delivery fee was 5 dollars, I left tip and my food arrived spilled everywhere, very bad packing. I do not recommend this place at all.

Delivery took 75 minutes and the plantain cups were better in theory than executed. The veggies and creamy chipotle sauce were great but you're better off getting them in a taco or burrito. The nachos were good too but could have used less pickled jalapeno and some of that chipotle sauce that came drizzled on the plantain cups. I don't regret ordering from here but likely won't ever do so again since there are better options in the neighborhood.
