Got take out from Pearl of the Orient and it was not good. The overall vibe of the place is awful. It was dark and uninviting. Will not try again. Would give zero stars if possible.

Friendly staff and delicious food. I have found their General Tso's Chicken and Tangerine Beef to be very well prepared and presented nicely in separate tray from the rice.

I've been ordering from this restaurant for the past 9 years. At first it was great and we were really excited there was a good Chinese restaurant in our new neighborhood. However, as time has gone by, the food quality has been going downhill. Tonight it hit bottom. The hot and sour soup was completely tasteless. I can't even describe how tasteless it was. Neither my Lake Tung Ting Shrimp or my husband's beef and broccoli had any flavor either. An addition of salt helped the main dishes, slightly. Very slightly. It was probably the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten.

I had the large wonton egg, drop soup and the pepper steak with onion. While the pepper steak and onion were very tasty and delicious, it was small for $10. The one large container had enough wonton and egg drop soup for two or three servings. The wonton was cooked well as was the pork inside the dough wonton. Some portions were a little doughy as if they weren't done enough. The only take back was that the broth the wontons were in, did not have a robust egg drop flavor, but watery flavor. It lacked any substance at all. The peppers and onions and pepper steak were very good and fresh as well. It was an overall good meal.

We have been getting take out from here for years. The quality and portions have always been outstanding. We have NEVER gotten a bad meal. Pearl Of The Orient is our go to restaurant for chinese.

This is our go to for Chinese take-out. Reliable dishes, never any problems. It's your basic Chinese take away spot. Nothing fancy but very consistent food.

New to Albany and wanted a Chinese soup and dinner. After a few reviews picked on Peral of the Orient hot and sour soup and Szechuan chicken were to the point. Slightly different seasoning but none the less both the hot soup and the chicken hit home. May have got our go to Chinese in Albany.

Pearl of the Orient, what you've just created is one of the most insanely unpalatable things I have ever tasted. At no point in your inadequate, tasteless attempt were you even close to providing anything that could be considered edible.Everyone in this house is now dumber for having eaten it. I award you 0 stars, and may God have mercy on your soul.
