A cozy Italian-American in Mahopac on Route 6, that is worth a trip from anywhere! The review, may sound like hyperbole, but it's not! A friend mentioned it had good food, great prices, and table service and he was going down there, so we all stopped in for lunch. Great decision. The prices are very reasonable! One of the best Italian-American restaurant/pizzerias I've found in years; and I've eaten more than my share of pizza in many countries. Only top quality ingredients are used! We each ordered a different 12" pizza, one for each of us. In hindsight, we could've ordered one pizza that the three of could have shared and would we have been satiated! My significant other ordered a prosciutto and arugula pizza. She had one at Cancino's in Mexico City November 2019 and LOVED it. We've never seen it on another menu here. So, when she saw it on their menu, she ordered it right away! It was perfect! There was about 4 ounces of arugula and the $20 something a pound prosciutto on it. See the photo. No crispy cremated prosciutto chips nor wilted arugula arrived to the table. My friend had the red meat pizza. It looks like about a pound of sausage meat and a whole pepperoni was sliced and put on his pizza. He kept picking pepperoni off his pizza and putting it on ours. What we had looked like a normal pepperoni pizza; there was that much on his! There was a small group who ordered pasta dishes. They looked great also. Yelpers get a 10% discount.

Great pizza place at a reasonable price. Went here on a Friday night, and we had made a reservation in advance. We were seated immediately. I thought both the margherita pizza and the diavola pizzas were excellent. I highly recommend this place when you are in the area and looking for a pie!

We were invited to come here. It's a distance but it was highly recommended. I am glad that we came. They have my favorite pizza arugula and prosciutto. I had it in Mexico and fell in love with it. Thinking never to have it again unless I went to Mexico. I was wrong they have it here. The place is not big. But their pizzas are filing and absolutely delicious. It's a little out of our area but worth it Sheryl is our server. Unfortunately I could not eat it all, but I'll finish it later.

Truly a hidden gem. All food is meticulously hand made from scratch. Mario and his staff are very friendly. Hand tossed pizzas are baked in a real wood fired oven. Pastas, veal, mussels and chicken dishes are all excellent and served in plentiful portions. Great dining room. Plenty of parking. I highly recommend this place if you are in Mahopac.

I felt like giving this place another try but I'm done, 3 strikes! Burnt blackened pizza (delivered for company no less) I was so embarrassed! Chicken franchise, 2 cutlets burnt & blackened on all edges, dry no taste or lemon flavor over dry pasta, no hint of lemon sauce or garnish slices at all. Cold pizza like sponge the 3rd try. Save ur money, there's so many other places in the area. I swear no ITALIANS r working that kitchen! I'd love to know tho.

I recently moved to Mahopac from the city. Mario's is by far the best pizza I've had in the area, fresh with great toppings. I've now tried salads and some veggie sides and they've also been good. This is the best pizza in the are if you like thin crust Neapolitan style pizza with fresh and good ingredients. Delivery is free which is amazing, I order from them all the time. I haven't yet eaten there, this is a great to-go place. So glad Mario's is here! Also, almost forgot to mention the prices are unmatched for the quality of the food in this area.

The Margherita Woodfired Pizza is second to none! The sauce, the cheese, the basil and the crust are just Amazing! You don't even have to chew it because it melts in your mouth. It's just that good!
We've been a few times and the food is good. We've had the baked clams, gnocchi, bruschetta, salad and pizza. For the price you pay the food is good. That said, the service is not very good and we typically don't get much attention during our meal. We go for the fair priced food and quality of food considering the inexpensive cost

The food is really good, we enjoyed there pizza and eggplant parm with a salad. The chicken parm is really good too! We usually go down to Westbrook pizzeria in Cortland Manor cause their pizza is by far better then most pizzeria's in the area...we recommend you try there pizza and compare! That's what we do to find the best pizza and best Italian food or even just burgers throughout NY.
