Bought a gift basket for my mother in law on 12/24 - was horrified to discover after we opened it on Christmas that every single item packaged in the basket was past the expiration date!! Dishonest beyond belief… stay away! One expiration date on 2022 was even covered with black marker! Reporting to health department! “Thanks” for ruining my Christmas experience…

Great wine and tapas spot that isn't far from the Hampton Jitney stop. Their selection of wine, meats, and cheese is quite good. The staff owner and his staff are entertaining, friendly, and hilarious. I went often with an ex and we would always have side conversations with the other customers which created an even friendlier and chill environment. Definitely a gem.

Great atmosphere and wine list. Food is always tasty and specials are worth the trip to the north fork alone.

Great little spot! Went with a few people for a glass of wine, some crostini and some cheese plates and we all enjoyed the delicious food. Spoke to the owner for a little bit and he was super nice. One person in my group wasn't sure which of the wines they would like so they asked them a few questions about what flavors they liked and let her do a tasting to see if she liked a few before she decided which to get a glass of. Their Instagram food pics are drool-worthy and definitely persuaded us to try this place.

My first time here and they had a delicious sausage and pepper special with everything on it for Labor Day weekend. The staff was so down to earth and friendly. Lots of fun market items in a laid back space. Will be back to try the crostini!

Went on a Friday afternoon to grab a glass and a snack. Was excited to check out a local wine bar... until we got there and it was far from a wine bar.A wine list by type of wine was on a small chalkboard. Another couple in the shop ordered glasses of two white wine... the waitress said sorry, don't have either of those. A third? No. They ended up with 2 glasses of Sancerre.I ordered an Oregon Pinot, which the waitress found after a few minutes and checking the back of the label. My boyfriend ordered a montepulciano... couldn't find it. "When we restock everything gets all out of order." He ended up with a super Tuscan. The wines were fine, but we didn't dare order food. Bottom line: if you run a wine bar, your workers must know the wines you serve, and be able to find them in the modest to small sized bar. Label them 1-20, I don't care. Very disappointing.

Great little hidden wine bar with a nice selection of wines and authentic fresh Italian small plates. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

So thrilled to have Basso in Mattituck now! Ideal place to pop in for a glass of wine, especially as it's getting colder. The inside is cozy and intimate, the service is warm and fun, and you can't go wrong with anything you order. Make sure you check out any specials (I dream of the 1 lb meatballs!) or just leave your tummy in their hands and get a beautiful charcuterie plate made to order.
