The food and, the service sucks. The young girl that was there doesn’t smile doesn’t say hi. she walks up and down with out asking if you need help. . She won’t even ask you if you’re ready. customer service there sucks I will not be buying anything there no more. The chicken was disgusting did not have any flavor, But it’s my fault for trying new places.I stick with yardee

I was shocked. The waitress was pleasant and had patients. The food was a variety. They didn't spare on the authentic ingredients. Nothing was dried up on the counter. Whomsoever they hire as a cook is doing a great job. When Mario left the went down hill. Now it's back. The food was properly cooked abd delicious. I was literally shock. It's better than the Jamaica Restaurant across from Shop rite.Vegetarian options: The cabbage was delicious. It was loaded with sodiumDietary restrictions: The food was tasty without a lot of sodium. Who can eat it without worrying about your blood pleasure.

The food here is great. The service is average, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The portions are generous & the oxtail falls off the bone.Vegetarian options: Rasta pasta, steamed cabbage, etc.

Been coming here for a very long time since it was known as MARIO'S ISLAND CRUSINE. Im dissatisfied They are VERY stingy when it comes to portioning the food & sauce over the rice and chicken as intended(multiple occasions). I always get the jerk chicken with rice & plantains they put little to no jerk sauce over the chicken and rice. the chicken was dry. And sometimes i ask for extra jerk sauce, to them extra is alittle spoon full. I was so disappointed. I honestly believe they do that to keep it for themselfs smh.& Their is no need to be cheap with portioning out food as a paying customer. Hate to say it this will be my last time!

I had ox tail, curried goat and fried chicken. Plus sides of sweet plantains and rice and peas. Amazing.

Wow, this food is incredible. I've been living in Middletown for a year and of course only tried them during my last week here and I regret it! Every piece of my oxtail platter was delicious. The seasoning was phenomenal, the rice is cooked so well and the plantains were so sweet. My only complaint was that I only got two plantains in my order and I think the platter would've been perfect if they were just two more small oxtail pieces in the plate. I do feel like Scotchie Peppa's down the road gives a bit more meat. Don't even get me started on the mac & cheese though. I firmly stand by the fact that my mom makes the best mac & cheese but this mac & cheese came really damn close. You can taste the Caribbean twist to it, definitely not a traditional mac & cheese but so cheesy and so addicting. If you are reading this and wondering if you should go, the answer is yes. I ordered on GrubHub and my food was ready to pick up in less than 20 minutes. And the oxtail price in the store is the same as the oxtail price on GrubHub, $15, I was very happy about that.

So done with Sister’s Island Cuisine in Middletown NY. Meals are hit or miss more disappointing than good. I know how to cook good Jamaican cuisine and this is far from it. Prices going up and portion size decreased. Food quality has gone from bad to worse. Uncooked rice or soggy rice, rushed meat no flavor or oxtail is hard. Same applies to goat. Sometimes tasteless too salty, greasy or excessive pepper. It seems as if the cook is not happy. Maybe it’s time for some competition. Let’s get Mario out of retirement. I was a regular and I told them to their face that I would not be returning.

This experience was the absolute worst I've had in a long time. This place used to be Mario's Island Cuisine and it was the best around for Jamaican food. I stopped in last week and got my wife some food. It wasn't even edible the stewed chicken was nothing but bones the roti was dry and tasteless. The plantains were dry and crunchy. The stewed cabbage was coleslaw it wasn't at all what I expected. The food had no flavor.... I understand sometimes it's an off day but the experience was just that bad.. won't be back! We really miss you Mario

Jamaican food is another favorite of mine. When I visit different cities I like to experience it. The food was good and decent portions of meat for the price. The service was a bit slow (1 person serving & the register). The atmosphere was quiet, mostly takeout. I would eat here again.

If you want Jamaican food at a good price point and good portions this is the place for you. J*** chicken is always juicy and they give the sauce on the side if you want it that way. I always get take out and the food is always consistent.Vegetarian options: They do sell vegetarian options (they have different types of veggies patties all are tasty).Kid-friendliness: Staff are always nice to my childParking: Parking is in the front of the building

I ordered curry chicken for myself and stew beef for my husband. The food was delicious; but both meals consisted of more bones than meat.
