Wish they had more of the menu items, no macaroni pie, no festival. J*** chicken was good, and so was the curry coat. The oxtail was ok, but I wouldn't get it again. The drinks are expensive, $3 for Ting. The location is a little rough, but I would return.

Ordered J**** Curry and Stew chicken. The chicken was so broken that tiny bones were found in the rice of all 3 different plates. I could not feed this to kids. Very unsafe for consumption. Unfortunately will not order again.

This is the same Peppas family as the famous Brooklyn Peppas. To me, the Curry Goat is even better here than in NYC. Middletowners seem to not know what they have here - every night people line up around the block in Brooklyn. I travel a lot and try goat everywhere I can find it - Nothing remotely as good as this goat around Middletown, and consistently so, it's always as good as the first time. And the cabbage is perfect - a great mix, not too spicy but flavorful, and a good portion. Rice and peas - Yum. Pattys are good. I can not speak to any other dish. He should get and would do well in a better location - this seems to be the hoodiest looking commercial intersection in town. But worth it, safe, no one will bother you. Just day workers and locals hanging around the deli next door with a small triangle parking lot at the corner makes it look sketchie. And Scotchie is the Mayor around there, as well as a true Chef. Get it here so you can say you did when he's moved on up to a real place and gets written up. Authentic AF, Undiscovered award winning. I actually don't like the Peppas in BK, its ok, but there are several places in that central bk region I prefer. But this Peppa (Goat) is better than any of them, easily. Just saying.

I wish I could give this place ZERO Stars. I ordered a large order of Oxtail, rice and peas and plantains on 5/20/23. At first I thought I had Covid, because I couldn't taste anything. Then I took a home Covid test to make sure. Nope. No Covid. So I asked my wife to taste it. And she said to me that she can't taste anything. So she took a Covid test too. Negative for her too. So maybe we think either the chef has Covid, or this place really is terrible. So my son went back and ordered a Curry Chicken, rice and peas and plantains. The curry chicken had some flavor, but the rest had no taste. I'm from the Bronx and I had high hopes for this place because there aren't many Jamaican restaurants in the area. They had the Rasta colors everywhere and the place looked promising. But unfortunately the food is tasteless and it is terrible. I cannot recommend even buying a beef patty from here because that may be terrible too. If you are going to throw your money away here, at least take a Covid test first to rule it out when you realize you can't taste anything.

Food and service were great. Damien was friendly and attentive. Stewed chicken was tender and flavorful. The rice 'n' peas and cabbage were cooked perfectly. This will be my late night spot to eat.

The curry goat was good but the rice is always undercooked. Cook the rice for about five more minutes to avoid this issue. It doesn't make sense to open a restaurant and you're struggling to make white rice properly. The cabbage and carrots are undercooked as well. I've ordered food about three times from this place and two out of the three times the rice is undercooked.
