I ordered oxtail with rice and peas steamed vegetables, along with a side order of fried plantains. All of that, including a $2 tip cost me nearly $22. Quite pricey but I don't mind paying, so long as the food is good. Now was it worth it? NEGATIVE. First of all, they didn't even have steamed vegetables so I asked what they recommended and the gentleman said mashed potatoes. I should've known it wasn't going to be regular potatoes. It had carrots and perhaps peas, I'm not too sure what type of greenery it was. As if that wasn't bad enough, I swear there was only 4 oxtails in there and one strictly only had fat so basically inedible. To make matters worse, the extra $3 that I paid for the friend plantains, you would think they'd give extra for the lack of steamed vegetables but no. They surprised me even more by giving me only 3 plantains. So you mean to tell me, each little a** plantain was $1 each?! What kind of bs is that?! I will not be surprised if this establishment closes down soon. The way they rip off their customers is beyond shameful. Last but not least, the oxtail wasn't even that tasty, mediocre at best. Definitely not returning nor would I even recommend. If you want some good oxtail that's actually worth your money, go to Roc & Ramen, a few blocks away. It's soup but damn is it so tasty.

The best Jamaican food I've had by far in a long time. The oxtails were delicious, the cabbage was perfect. The rice and peas completed the dish. You definitely need to make your way here. You won't be disappointed!

Ordered curry goat with rice and peas. Took forever to get it. The curry goat had no flavor and pieces of it was cold as if they took it out the fridge and microwaved it. Wouldn't be seeing me a second time

I came here looking for mangoVille which was a spot i used to visit a few years back but I was pleasantly surprised that the name was changed but they served the same kind of food. The inside of the store was a bit empty probably due to the fact that I came there in the late evening but the inside was very clean and the staff was very nice and friendly. I got a small order of oxtails with rice and peas and steamed vegetables to go. The price was a bit steep at $15 but everyone knows oxtails is really expensive. I took the food back to my room poured myself a drink and I began to feast the first bite my taste buds went wild not too sweet not too spicy just right. The meal I ordered was delicious and I will definitely try other options on the menu I can definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place for some nice Caribbean food to dine on.

I am the owner of Kay & K Event Planner. Two weeks ago I decorated for a co-worker's surprised dinner party. The space was easy to maneuver around in, I was very pleased with the accommodations of the owner and the staff was very helpful. Will definitely recommend to other event planners.Oh and the food was good too!

I like to tryJamaican restaurants and see if they're worth my time. I'm not looking for fancy, just good, delicious and friendly customer service.1. I tried to order from a lunch menu...was told it was OLD. Why was it on the counter?2. Ordered stewed chicken (basic...should be easy, right?), rice & peas, macaroni and cheese. It wasn't delicious. And the mac & cheese was macaroni WITH cheese. Not the nice, baked melt-y deliciousness I was expecting.3. Got charged NYC tax rate in New Rochelle. The experience was not good enough for a second try.

This spot has good drinks. I order chicken wings @ 8:45pm on a wed. I'm still waiting on my food not to mention it's just wings ... So I'm wondering did they had to kill the chicken. I could actually say they need a bar rescue for there kitchen Facts.. No Faking this way9:59

Tl;dr: Good food, good COVID safety practices, but bad service/communication and business practice may be a bit deceptive. Ordered takeout on a Friday night. Person who picked up said it was very loud and couldn't place the order over phone and we had to go in. Called again, this time successfully placing the order and was quoted a ~15 minute wait time. Went there and had temperature checks by guards, they also had plexiglass for safety. But at the counter they mentioned order wasn't actually placed and quoted another 20 minute wait time. At this point we just wanted to be done at the end of a long week, so opted to wait and walked around. Finally, after 3x trying to place an order, we were able to pick up. The food was good (ok, but not super amazing). We found an extra charge of 15% tip and 4% service fee when we had explicitly declined the tip (after all that service for a take out, it'll be absurd to want to tip...). Seems like shady business practice to me. Definitely check your receipt before you leave! Probably won't be going back anytime soon, considering there are other Jamaican restaurants in the area...

I have mixed feelings about this place. I called before I went there to make sure they had a specific menu item and I was told yes. Less than 10 minutes after when I got there she told me they did not have it. I decided to buy something else and after ordering it, it took almost 10 minutes to receive the food although I was the only person in the restaurant. I was frustrated but the food that I did end up buying from there was pretty good.
