We had never been here before, but had heard alot of good things about the food. We started off with the peirogis, which were very good. The salads with the meal were good. Then for our entrees we had the sauerbraten with red cabbage and a dumpling, which was one of the better flavored sauerbraten we have had in a while. Definitely authentic German flavors.

So my niece took her father for lunch for his birthday on 03/16/24 to Gus’s as my brother loved this place. Well my niece was served and the lunch had green mold on it. The owner who came out did not even apologize but to make it worse he did not take it off the bill. My niece took a picture and it was gross. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Where it may have been good years ago it definitely it not now. I am 100% German and I will never be seen in this place. I told my niece to call the better business bureau as well as a health inspector since this place should not be open.

Gus’s is simply the best German restaurant in the area! Richard, Keri, Debbie and the entire staff make you feel so welcome! The food is homemade, fresh from scratch. Drinks are amazing as well! Gus’s never disappoints! Perfect weekend dinner spot!

"Too fat to eat in my restaurant"After going there for years and enjoying the food, service and people, the owner claimed I damaged a chair and that I was too fat to eat in his restaurant. He told me to find somewhere else to go and to not come back because I was too fat. I don't know what's wrong with him, but I haven't been that angry in a long time. Several of my friends will no longer be going to the restaurant because of it and I feel bad for the staff because they were so nice to everyone.

I was very pleased with my first visit. The beer was ice cold and the wine delicious. Food was super as well as dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food, good service. Classic neighborhood restaurant that specializes in German style food. Wish they were open more and had better parking. Definitely will return. Will recommend to others.

Food was pretty good. We ordered escargot $17 and a German pancake $7 for an appetizer and the duck $32 and Jager schnitzel $30.The escargot was not great. The German pancake with applesauce was delicious. The duck was absolutely delicious. The flavor was amazing. The veal jager Schnitzel was okay. I was literally looking forward to a mushroom cream sauce and that's not what was given. They did have great beers on tap including an Spartan Octoberfest beer.We went way out of our way to stop at this restaurant. Probably wouldn't do it again. But it's hard to find good German food. If you are driving bye make the stop.
