Amazing comfort food location. The service is very good as the owner is clearly passionate about her food and gives you individual service. The food is excellent. I highly recommend stopping in for some takeout or using one of the high tops.

Ordered my first chicken roti and as described in many of the reviews it was in fact flavorful. What was underwhelming was the fact that the chicken and extremely large chunks of potato were not fully cooked and inedible. It was like eating souse instead of chicken. Eating undercooked chicken is a serious issue that can be complicated with hospitalization and or lawsuits. This can be remedied with some patience in the kitchen. There are some Caribbean but not Trini restaurants in the area so it’s a good niche to make some money. Don’t let the opportunity burn forgetting to let the food simmer a bit longer.

I was very pleased to find a Trinidadian restaurant not too far from my home. The gentleman who took my order was very polite and well mannered. My family and thoroughly enjoyed every dish that we ordered. Needless to say I will be back. Thank you for great food and customer service :)
This place we stumbled upon on a whim. Didn't expect to have such excellent service. We went out for a day shopping at Woodbury and found out that this restaurant is 20 minutes away. After biting the bullet it was the best thing to do. The food was not only hot and tasty, the service was top notch. Upon entering the staff was very friendly as well as the owner took time out of her busy day to come and chat with us. I will be visiting here again soon. Thank you for such excellent service Joanna. You are doing an amazing job.
Has a wonderful experience here! Drove here from Poughkeepsie and was not disappointed. The doubles were A+, and the service was excellent! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Excited that the food was great and can’t wait to go back!

I highly reccomend a Taste of Trini. This restaurant is the NEEDLE and New York is the HAYSTACK. The food is absolutely divine, the service is exceptional and the restaurant is impeccably clean. Joanna and her son are wonderful. It was definitely worth the 2hr. round trip drive.Vegetarian options: Many items can be prepared fresh if you call ahead.
You can smell the herbs and spices of Trinidad soon as you walk through the door. Very nice people who greet you soon as you come in. Food was fresh and hot. Curry chicken Roti was excellent. Buss up was nice and fluffy. Prices are a little bit on the high side but that’s expected because of the current economic situation right now. The lady told me more food selections are available on the weekends. Can’t wait to go back!

Honestly, I left with a serious Caribbean food high. No exaggeration, just pure, honest goodness.

This is a family owned business and the people seem friendly and nice. We came here to order roti. We did want to just order the skin with the curry sauce, rather than a full roti with meat and sauce. We were told that they couldn't accommodate that, stating if we did we would have to get it separately on the side. OK.... The roti in itself was alright. I can't say it was amazing. The roti skin wasn't as thin but fluffy, it was more on the thicker side, which is fine for someone used to it being prepared that way. I'm used to Ali's off of White Plains Rd, where I usually go since I know them and they also look out and make great food. I tried this, being that we don't have any (if even one) in this area. I doubt I'd come here again, based off of my own personal experience.
