Surprisingly affordable Italian food right next to NYU. Food is great, house wines are ok but very affordable.

UPD: new management, WAY SMALLER portions, higher prices. Just a shame. Pictures I added are the same dish “Polpo” now and 1 year ago.Old review: Highly recommend this place!GF pasta, good pizza, good choice of vegetables. You can also modify the recipe if you're vegan or don't like one of the ingredients. The staff is professional and welcoming.

Incredibly flavorful pasta dishes. We were satisfied with both dishes we had and their portion sizes (pretty decent). This is definitely one of the more cost effective yet authentic Italian places in Greenwich Village, would recommend.

Exactly what we wanted from a classic New York white tablecloth Italian restaurant. The pesto was amazing and the beans that came with the steak were better than the steak (though the steak was very good too!) Atmosphere is romantic but also nice for friends or family. Quiet for easy conversation.

Lovely meal - in particular the calamari and shrimp starter which to my surprise and delight had no batter, just deliciously swimming in lemon and garlic and cooked to melting perfection. Very good food. When paying over $100 for a bottle of wine it would be good to have it poured but typical in NY and why a lot of us give up tipping, as it’s not earned.

Comfortable traditional Italian small village style restaurant with good wine list and a few simple cocktails and good basic meals. eg A nice gem salad w gorgonzola and walnuts, grilled squid, veal bolognese. Very friendly service. A perfect casual, satisfying stop. Not the heights but just what you need.
