Hotel was a wonderful boutique hotel. Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Location was perfect for us as we had a show at The Beacon. Plenty of great restaurants nearby. Small convenient bar on 1st floor of hotel. We will definitely return when visiting NYC again.

Perfect location. Starbucks to the left, bagels to the right and pizza on the corner. We where one block from central park. Had a wonderful and safe time in NYC. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Charged a smoking fee despite not smoking in the room whatsoever. When we reached out to the hotel, they claimed their head house keeper was on another floor, and it was their call. It’s been several days and we have yet to hear back from the hotel. Just do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Going out on a limb and leaving this review after only the 1st night of our stay (out of 3). This is the most convenient location you can get in Manhattan if you are planning on getting out to see several different areas during your stay. There are lots of hotels in close proximity to a subway stop, but this one is right on top of the 59 St-Columbus Circle station, which gives you the most direct routes in any direction. Walk out the front door of this hotel and literally right across the street (you really don’t even need to go to the corner to cross) is an escalator(!) drop to the A, B, C, D, 1, 2 and 3 subway lines. Those lines will take you directly to just about any spot you want to go. I can’t tell you how great it is to get off the subway after an outing and the hotel door is right there. Also, it is located directly across Columbus Circle from Central Park (the best part of the city). And this is literally next door to a Starbucks and a Walgreens convenience store/pharmacy, just around the corner is a great pastry shop, and within a block are several other breakfast/coffee options and a CVS. The staff has been great, they were able to store my luggage when I arrived earlier than expected, well before checkin. The rooms are nice and clean and I’ve never had a hotel in this town with good water pressure until now. Tip: the subway system in the city is incredible, take advantage of it. Use your Maps app for directions, update settings to Transit/Subway, it tells you exactly which subway drop to walk to and which line to get on.

I never write reviews for hotels I have stayed at for business, because quite frankly I normally never want to give them a second thought after I walk out the door, but since I did spend the first night of my stay at 6 Columbus for pleasure I guess this isn't breaking my rules, plus this place deserves and has earned the best review I could possibly give. Even before I got to the hotel I was impressed as I had to call three times prior to my arrival for different reasons. 1. To extend my business trip for one extra day to stay there to visit with friends. 2. To ask for an empty refrigerator in my room 3. To ask some other random question I can't quite recall I have to admit that when a coworker recommended that this be the hotel we stay at for a conference in the city I was very suspect, but I am also a pessimist, and I dislike said coworker with the heat of a thousand suns, BUT by the time I arrived I was feeling better as each time I called the hotel (sorry about all the calls, btw) I spoke to a different person who was equally capable, knowledgable, polite, helpful, professional, etc. When I arrived Saturday afternoon I was greeted by an equally professional and polite person at the desk who offered to store my luggage while I waited for my room to be ready. I opted to hold on to my luggage and get a bite to eat and a drink at the attached Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar, and the gentleman who greeted me said he would alert me when my room was ready. I hardly had time to drink a cocktail and eat a few bites of a kale salad when he approached me and told me my room was ready for me, two hours before the official check-in time. YES the lobby is quite dark, but who cares. The elevators are quick (if a bit tiny) and took me to my room on the 9th floor. YES the room is tiny. I am from NYC. I have stayed in many rooms in NYC and at this price point and this location if you are expecting anything large you should not be in NYC. The room may be small but it was more well appointed than many luxury and boutique hotels I have stayed at for pleasure. 1. fully stocked wet bar that was actually empty the way I asked for it to be! They listened to me! I was seen. 2. Spotless. Everything was spotless. 3. The bathroom is actually quite pretty. I took a picture of the tiles as an idea for our bathrooms when we renovate them next. Slight complaint: The sink is weird. Not small thank God, but I stayed there for 4 days and me and a friend I had to the room just could not figure it quite out properly. Other than that the bathroom is great! Again, small but great. I do wish it had a tub and not just a shower, but this is NYC there is a lot more to do than take a bath in your hotel room. 4. Bed small but comfortable. Pillows could have been a bit firmer, but there were four of them plus a small decorative one that made it comfy to sleep on. 5. QUIET. Almost the most important thing for me in a hotel, and one of the hardest things to find in a hotel. In midtown this hotel was quiet day and night. I slept like a baby every night and was never awoken by anything coming from outside. 6. Maid service is amazing. I left my room for about 20 minutes one day and by the time I came back my room was as spotless as if I had just arrived including fresh linens. 7. Without exception, and including the attached restaurant every single person I dealt with was of a caliber you hardly every find in a Four Seasons. I can't explain how hard it is to find people working at a hotel who actually not only act and speak like they know what they are doing, but actually do it, and do it as if they themselves owned the hotel. 8. The hotel has a 48 hour cancellation policy, but I needed to get work done that I could not do from my hotel so my boss asked me if I could check to see if I could check-out a day early. It was less than 24 hours notice and with a smile the answer was absolutely. They let me shorten my stay by one day with no penalty. 9. When I checked out I was asked if I wanted a car. I don't think that happens very often now, and again the person

Traveling for business i booked a room for 1 night . I was moving from another hotel that was close by because i had to extend my trip by another day . The 6 seemed easy i could just walk over . I called earlier that morning requesting a early check in. (1:30pm) .i was told no at first but i would be put in a cue . I said ok . When finishing work i checked out of my other hotel at 1:30 and figured I’d walk over and check the status of the room and just leave my bags if necessary. When i arrived the from desk agent told me he could check me in . He gave me the room 26 . I go to the room and my view right out side the window is a huge air conditioner unit that is very loud . So i called down and requested a new room because the noise would be to much for sleep . When i went town stairs i thanked him for attempting to check me in early but i knew that room wouldn’t work for much needed rest . At that point he told me i would have to wait for 3pm for a new room . I said ok and the very nice bell man checked my bags. I walked around the city and returned at 2:45 to check for any updates . I waited as the line in front of me got checked in . When it was my turn i was told the room was still not ready . So i sat in the lobby and waited . At 3 o’clock the time of the hotel check in i was told it was going to be another 20 Min at least . I told him that wasn’t acceptable and asked for a reason and explained the advertised check in is at 3 and he told me it would be ready by 3 . After a back and forth with him i asked to speak to the hotel manager who was equally unhelpful and try to tell me it was my problem because i didn’t want the original room they gave me . So i asked to talked to his boss . He gave me the card to the general manager Donna kopij . I called her from the lobby , explained what was going on and she was very helpful and apologetic. She told me she would address the issue and told me she was going to put me in a suite for the inconvenience. I thanked her told her how appreciative i was and then thanked her again . So i walk up to the front desk and told them i spoken with Donna and she said that they would get me in a room . At this point i was passed on to the original front desk person who did not say a word to me . He was typing on his key board not even acknowledge my presence. He slides over a key with a number written on it . No apology no “he is your key “, no “enjoy your stay nothing “. I arrive to the room and it is no suite as i was told it would be . It was just a regular room . I made no mention of it to the front desk because i siding feel like dealing with them anymore and just wanted to rest . I gave the rating of 2 stars instead of 1 start because of the helpfulness of both Donna and the Bell man . But the customer service from both the hotel manager and the front desk needs work . This morning i called down for a late check out and was told no. I realize that isn’t owed to me but i was the reason given for my late check in yesterday. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and if you so stay here don’t take room 26.

In town with my son for the Jerry Seinfeld show at the Beacon Theater, we found the 6 Columbus Hotel the perfect location just steps from Columbus Circle and Central Park that gave us a nice 15 block walk up Broadway to the theater. The facade is an attractive brick and stone and once inside it has an interesting 1960's modernist decor with quirky hallways and stairs. They have 88 rooms, a restaurant/bar on site and a rooftop lounge overlooking Central Park as well a valet parking. It is cental to shopping, restaurants, bars and general sightseeing while being a little less expensive than some of the surrounding hotels. Our room was pretty small, but it was all we needed for our circumstances, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as long as the price points were favorable.

I stayed at this hotel with my mom and sister. We selected the King Suite, which had a living space and separate bedroom with the King bed in early November. Pros: - Room was very spacious; - The bed and couch were comfortable (the pullout bed was very uncomfortable, so I slept on the couch instead of the pullout); - Comfortable pillows; - The room was clean; - Well appointed mini bar; - Good location. Close to Central Park, food, shopping. Cons: - It took forever to checkin. There were 2 people helping 1 guest who was complaining about their bill. There was 1 more employee who was just hovering around the desk without helping us. We stood there for 10-15 minutes before we were helped to be checked in; - We had to call down to ask for sheets and pillows for the pullout. Service was extremely slow; - The king bed had a flat sheet the first night, but then once housekeeping came the following day, the flat sheet was gone. So, it was only a fitted sheet and the comforter; - The sheets were never replaced from housekeeping, they basically just redid the bed in the same sheets everyday; - One of the pulls on the drapes was broken; - There were chains on the windows that were necessary for closing the windows, 1 of the windows didn’t have a chain so we had to be creative in closing the window completely; - The hotel just feels a bit run down in general, everything seemed to be a bit wonky or broken; - Checkout was pretty quick, but they only provided me with the total without even showing me the bill. I asked to see the bill and the employee seemed annoyed I even asked.

Everything about this hotel is dark. The hallways, the rooms, the lobby... We hadn't stayed here for over a decade, and while stylish and comfortable, the combination of small and poorly lit made this place feel a bit oppressive and depressing. I felt like I should have been sleeping off a hangover. (Had that been the case, I might have been glad to have been essentially invisible to the staff. But being sober, just a tiny bit of customer service would have been welcome. ) We also managed to leave behind an item, and while we did get it back, the recovery process took an insane amount of effort and cost. At this price point, there are better options although this is a good location if you plan to spend time on the UWS.

Stayed for four nights for a work trip - this is NOT A LUXURY HOTEL. Entire hotel is tired and cheap. Rooms are laughably small - even for NYC. Window looked into another building. Barely got any sleep because of a crack in the window seal which created loud whistling noise from the wind. The fridge was also incredibly loud. No coffee or tea - not even a shower cap! TV would just stop working saying no signal. Stay at the Hampton Inn down the street for a better experience at a better rate.

Hidden rooftop bar, very cool but casual as well. Great experience! Not too pricy, amazing liquor selection.

Nice rooftop place atop the Columbus Hotel. Roof is retractable which is pretty cool and great for different weather conditions.
