Really excellent Greek place. This is the second time I’ve visited and I’ve been impressed on both occasions by the lovely food. The tuna-salmon carpaccio is gorgeous and so good I regretted having to share it. The ink risotto and the sea bass with gnocchi are both wonderful—the gnocchi is so crispy! And for dessert we had the orange cake, which is packed with citrus flavor. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

Argo Tribeca is a Mediterranean-inspired and comfort food restaurant that recently opened in lower Manhattan. It is set up very nicely with a warm and welcoming feel with exposed brick walls and aged wooden tables. We were greeted with a smile from the friendly host and server and shown to a very private table by the window. The only problem with the table was the draft coming from both sides of the window (it was a cold and windy night). To start, we each ordered a cocktail from their menu, one old fashion and one citrus lime drink (I cannot recall the name). The old fashion was ok, but my drink was sour and flavorless. I had to send it back. I got an old fashion to replace it.The beef tartare presentation is unique, arriving on a split open bone, drizzled with olive oil and 3 light and flaky small pastries. It had a nice flavor, but nothing to write home about. As this is a med restaurant, we were excited to try the dips with pita bread, which came with 4 sauces: tzatziki, tirokafteri, hummus, melitzanosalata. Nothing really stood out, everything was flat and lacked the exciting Mediterranean flavors we expected. The pita bread was better by itself. It was hot with a light dusting of oregano. We ordered a second round of drinks, staying with the old fashion. They made the second one with Whiskey, instead of burbon. It was a big turn off for us as neither of us are whiskey drinkers and the peat in the whiskey really killed the drink vibe for us. We decided not to have a second drink after this incident. We decided to go with something easy, since we were not really impressed with anything at that point. We chose the spaghetti bolognese, after all they said they specialized in comfort food. How could they get this wrong? The dish looked nice as it arrived piping hot, unfortunately it was so bad that we had to send both back. I can eat almost anything but this dish, such a simple dish, tasted like they poured tomato juice on top of spaghetti and crumbled some unseasoned cooked ground beef on top. It was, simply put - horrible. The staff is very friendly, and this place looks so nice but based on our experience I must give this restaurant 2 stars, something I rarely do. My hope is that they see this review and make some changes so that future diners will have a better experience than we did.

5 STARS ACROSS THE BOARD!!! Went with my bestie on a Sunday afternoon, such a calm place with amazing servers. We were seated immediately and treated so nicely. Its a BYOB place so bring some wine with you. The grilled octopus is amazing, the sea bass with gnocchi with really good but the gnocchi was a tad too salty. The pita with spread was very good too and a great way to start our meal. Will definitely be returning whenever I want a good meal.

We've been there before and it was a calm experience with good food and good service, not last night. The sound was excruciatingly loud and I owe that to the design and bad acoustics and the amount of people. The bad service, although pleasant servers, was also probably because of the sound the waiter brought in the wrong order. and the amount of people.

We had an excellent meal. I was really happy because they moved us into the private nook by the window when it became available without us asking for that. Really enjoyed our evening and will try to come back.

Had a wonderful Saturday night date night here! Ordered the dips and all four were delicious. I am not usually a feta fan but the whipped spicy feta was soooooo good and the pita with it was perfectly cooked! Caesar salad was super tasty and the coq au vin was amazing too with a reallly flavorful sauce. Plating was well thought out and I felt great leaving this meal. Great cocktails and wine too with a cozy intimate vibe! Will be back and bring friends!

An intimate, charming room w/personable and very professional service; most importantly, a Mediterranean style menu with delicious seafood and vegetables that easily accommodated one of our party's cow dairy allergy.
