Tangy heaven. I am Lebanese and idk I think lemon is the secret ingredient to every dish we have. Au Zatar's baba ganoosh was the best I ever had in my life hands down. It was tangy it was tender it was divine. The makanek was really good. I don't know if I would get it again but I do think if you like sausage, it's a good choice. The fattet djaj was also a win. I would eat that regularly -- it's a warm and tart and creamy delight. The chicken is tender and cooked well. Ambiance was on the upscale end and service was amazing.

Had a great experience here tonight. Made a reservation earlier on in the day. Seated right away when we arrived. Shout out to our waiter Francis. His hospitality was truly exceptional. When he noticed that all of the food we ordered barely fit on our table, he cheerfully moved us to a bigger table. The food was outstanding. We especially loved the spicy potatoes and the beef flatbread. Drinks were tasty as well. A very pleasant evening.

Ambiance is really good and service was excellent. The food doesn't not live upto the expectations though. Especially for the price you pay.

This Lebanese restaurant has this newer location in midtown east. They have their other location in the East Village. This restaurant is on the bigger side. They have many tables inside and outdoors as well. We sat towards the back area. It does get noisy and they have music playing a bit loud. But hey it's good music. The setting to this restaurant its on the dark side with lights dim. But there are lamps on tables to help see menu. I will say at first it was a bit hard to find the restroom. I ended up going ti the front and asking a waitress where it was. She showed me and it turned out to be actually right where we were seated. It was kinda hard to tell that that was the bathroom entrance. The bathrooms are also on the dark side. And there are only two. There is a little waiting area with a seat or two. To be honest I wad not sure I would find anything I would like/ be able to eat as I have alot of food allergies. But we had a great waiter who told me stuff I should stay away from. I went out with 6 other family members so there was alot of food that was ordered. I just ordered separately and did not try the other food. I ordered some chicken dish that had herbs on it. It was actually pretty good. Came with rice and like roasted veggies it looked like. This restaurant is known for their at table shawarma cutting thing. They have this big heater type item and you can get shawarma or other type of meat and the waiter will slice off pieces for you. It does take 25-35 min to come to the table or a little more. So if you know your table wants it I recommend placing that order first. On the other hand my cocktail I got was pretty tasty. It was called What a night! WHAT A NIGHT! Hendrick's Gin / Basil Syrup / Lime Juice Everyone else at the table just shared bottles of wine. I did not have any dessert as we were all very full. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Great good but did not have a huge quantity even for their big platter. Great service and the mood was very cheery.

This place is really good and has good food. The music is good and so is the service. It's relatively easy to get a table despite it being a popular restaurant; definitely try it out!

From the fatoush salad to the mixed grill combo, this place rises above the average kebab house with the special spices utilized by their excellent chef. Highly recommend as an alternative to Turkish/Persian/Bukharian fare.

If I was rating this on food alone, I'd give it 4 stars. If I was rating this on service alone, it'd get 0 starts. We started out by ordering the vegetarian sampler, halloumi and fries. The fries and halloumi came out quickly and the sampler 20 minutes after ordering, which wasn't too bad based on the number of items on the sampler. The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. We forgot about the wait once we started eating! As we were picking at the sampler, we also placed an order for the lamb kabobs in hopes of eating them with some of the delicious spreads/dips. 45 minutes later, the lamb had not come out and the waiter had not been back to check on us once. I had to pull him aside, ask about the lamb, where he said "oh, it hasn't come out yet? I will go check on it". He proceeds to say they're "working on it". 15 more minutes pass and the manager checks in with us and I, again, ask about the lamb. She also goes to check and says it's on the way. 10 minutes later, we finally receive the lamb. And don't get me wrong, it was delicious! But was it worth an hour of waiting? Debatable. The manager apologized for the wait and offered us free dessert. We had been there for 2 hours at that point, so declined as we were not expecting to be there for so long. Upon dropping off our check, our waiter did not say a WORD. No apology. No thank you. Dropped the check. Picked it up. And returned it. ZERO WORDS. That was the icing on the cake. I was extremely excited to try this restaurant. It had been on my list to try for months, so this experience was that much more disappointing. I will not be returning.

We had a bad experience today.Looks like they have hygienic issues. Tomatoes in the pizza had sticker on it. So tomatoes might not be washed. Then they took too long to bring the order and also to take the order. Once the order came, it took a long time to bring the bread too. Then when the order came.We ordered falafel pizza and three tier platter

This place is by far one of the best Middle Eastern spots in the city. everything on the menu, and I've been enough time to have tried at least half of it, is perfection. I have no notes on anything they do. The newly renovated interior is stunning, the vibe is friendly and lively, and their Au Za'atar To Go always has amazing deals during the week. 10000% would recommend you check them out if you are visiting, and if you are a local, what are you doing not being a regular here?

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but I will try to paint a picture. Au zatar is a spacious trendy spot in Midtown East where we went on a Friday night as a group of 7. We got a big table in the middle of a big buzzing room and felt instantly comfortable and at ease. The star of the evening was the 6-dip that we got with the Za'atar bread. That was the best dish pairing for me in the entire evening. Besides this we got the falafel pizza which was meh, very avoidable, and the falafels which were nice and crumbly. For mains we got that big table side chicken shawarma grill which they offer only to "big" groups such as ours(6 or more people I am guessing?). It came with a mound of fries and was more show than taste in my opinion. Our vegetarian friends got the grilled veggies platter which was flavorful and nicely charred. We enjoyed sharing that with them. The cocktails were great. We also got a bottle of red from their extensive wine collection. Definitely worth coming here again!
