My girlfriend and I dined here after taking a romantic walk through Central Park. The host and waiter made sure the romantic theme continued, practically fawning over us to ensure an exceptional experience. The décor is sublime and perfect for the location. And even with all that, the real star was the incredibly delectable food! Veal shanks, Cannelloni stuffed with Veal Osso Buco, an incredibly delicious Pea Soup (and I despise pea soup), and glasses of champagne and bold reds from Avena's impressive list comprised an absolutely amazing meal. Well worth it!

I honestly don’t know where it went wrong or who went wrong. I visited this location on my last day in New York, We feel in love with the outside and the menu. My partner and a friend and I decided to sit down and order.The food was simply amazing and would recommend to try the pasta carbonara and my friend got the same thing with a bottle of champagne ? which was $50 bucks. The pasta $26, and a ginger Al $6. Some how they took it upon themselves to tip them self’s $31. When we left them 20% tip on that order which was his order. So he left $17 the following day he got a receipt for a toto of 120.27. Which is way more then was he left.Thankfully he had his copie of the receipt so he tried to call them to no avale. So we had to contact my friends bank. To end this I would recommend you pay full cash or tip in cash not card.They’re kinda sleazy in my opinionAnd simply wrong for doing that.Our waiters name was James

A friend and I went for dinner this evening. We liked that the outdoor area wasn't packed and th people weren't right on top of each other. Great bread basket to start: excellent variety. My friend ordered the Tuna Tartare and I had the Isolana Pizza. My friend enjoyed her food and I loved the pizza (although there were onions on it, which I'd specifically asked the waiter to have the kitchen leave off). Fortunately they were easy enough to remove and didn't affect the taste. I wasn't sure the pizza with tuna (it wasn't the tuna in olive oil listed on the online menu, but like what you'd find in a sushi roll) and white anchovies would work, but it was delicious! Our very thoughtful waiter came over to check on us and noticed the onions. He offered to send it back but I opted not to go to the trouble. He said he would have a surprise for me and later brought out a terrific Tiramisu with ice cream. My friend only had a spoonful so I happily hoovered up the rest. Looking forward to my leftovers!

Avena was truly splendid. From the decor to the food I was truly impressed. The drinks were so delicious and served to perfection. Now let me get to the food! We tried several Plates including the langoustine which was superb! This is a great place for family dinner and a date! I would strongly recommend you won't be disappointed.

Avena is amazing. I am a cook at Van Cortlandt Golf with 13 years of experience in the food service industry. I can tell Avena is fancy, hospitable, and Affordable. I had a nice Chicken Milanese that was tender, full of flavor, and the chicken was perfectly made in a pan(like it should always be). Thank you Jose Luis and Tashi for your excellent service.

The staff are amazing and the manager and owner make you feel like family. We asked her for wine recommendations 1 special bottle to toast with and 3 inexpensive and the wines she chose for us were spot on. The best part is the food, a feast for the eyes, and so delicious. We had the chilled seafood salad(insalatadi mare, the special bolognese with unusual fresh pasta that they make, chanterelle risotto, scampi, the real thing, not shrimps but langoustin. Will be back! Oh, the garden setting in front is beautiful too.

The pasta and drinks were fantastic. All the servers were very kind and patient. Will definitely come back! I loved the complimentary bread basket, they had a great assortment of bread and breadsticks

Wow. This is an outstanding restaurant. The service was incredible, some of the best and most genuine I’ve ever seen. The entire staff helps you. Second, the food was equally outstanding. We love it and will come back for sure. Thank you for a great meal and experience from beginning to end.

This place deserves way more recognition. It is a beautiful restaurant with an outdoor patio with amazing service. Our waiters were so attentive and knowledgeable and did not rush us even though we were only getting drinks and an app. You get a complimentary bread basket with your food and everything we had was delectable. 12/10 recommend trying this place out for brunch or dinner. It'd be a cute date spot too!

Go here! It was the absolute best! We went for my girlfriends birthday and they treated us like royalty! We did not even have a reservation! Delicious food, attentive service, kind people! Loved every single thing about this place.
