The Buddha bao is pretty good. The sesame noodles are a bit bland a bit like cheap spaghetti noodles.

I had the duck bao and shrimp tempora bao. The duck bao was a 2 star. The duck skin wasn't crispy and was very fatty. The flavor wasn't on point either. The shrimp tempora bao was the better of the 2. The buns were not soft and fluffy. I would not come back.

Located in the Urbanspace W 52nd food hall, Bao by Kaya sells large portions of noodle dishes, served up rice bowl style. The food hall was fairly busy on a Thursday afternoon. My wife and I decided to get noodle bowls, so we ordered two: Dan Dan Noodles and Szechuan Beef Noodles, both priced at $14.99 each. Once paid, you would wait for a bit (5 minutes) and then pick up your tray once they call out your name. The lunch crowd was clearing out, so we were able to find seating for 4 at the upper dining hall. Both dishes came in plastic to-go bowls, and was very generous in serving size (if I could do it again, I would have just ordered one noodle bowl and maybe got one bao to taste). The thick rice noodles are obviously fresh, and are a great conduit for the sauce to stick to. One small issue was that the dishes had ingredients that normally would not be in the dish, if strictly following the name. I really liked the Szechuan Beef: there was 6 thicks slices of braised beef shank and liberal use of peanut sauce with pickled vegetables..but not sure why that would be considered Szechuan. The Dan Dan noodles....not really, which I think threw my wife for a loop. It used peanut sauce, plus had a lot more ingredients than mentioned on the menu (e.g. hard boiled egg, pickled vegetables like carrots and fresh veggies like kale and red cabbage), along with a white sauce I couldn't place my finger on. One bowl would have been plenty for the two of us for lunch, and since we didn't want to carry around food for the rest of the day, we sadly had to throw about half of it away. It would have been absolutely a great meal the next day (for me at least).

All items are tasty. And the cashier is very friendly. But I didn’t expect the $14 combo just to have 3 pieces of dumplings.. I was NOT filled!!Also Bao is supposed to be wrapped fully!! This open end kind makes your finger really sticky!!

I was craving Bao buns after work one day without the crazy price point. I decided to order pick up, and got the curry chicken, duck and pork belly. I’m so happy I went with the quick convenient option! The buns were soft and fluffy and all the fillings were amazing. You really can’t beat what you get for $5. All of them were amazing too!

It's in a small food court in a business district. I had thought it was going to be a restaurant. It was very loud and unclean in the seating area. The bao were nice and the slaw on top of one of them very good. The spring rolls were small and greasy so the combo was not worth it. The noodles were meagre portion and was just blah and bit like dorm food.

Bao buns were great. The popcorn chicken was the worst, fattiest chicken I couldn't even bite into it. I tried to exchange it and the manager was very rude and said no. For $15 not worth it!!!

Fun little bao and chicken popcorn menu, for a relatively good price. The bao's were refreshing and pleasant to eat. Would give 5 stars! The chicken popcorn was a bit flat in taste though. The milk tea is clearly something that they offer on top, and don't really try to perfect in any way; I would stay away from it next time.Altogether, the lunch deal was a nice; quantity certainly being enough for 1 normal human being, and the price reasonable, but also not memorable enough to score a 5 star review.

Awesome baos. I had the 2 bao and popcorn chicken combo and it was delicious. The pork belly bao and shrimp tempura bao are not to be missed. The popcorn chicken is the business.
