This is our neighborhood restaurant. We usually come here on Fridays to celebrate the end of the work week. Their handmade pastas are ALL excellent (my fav is the bucatini) and their pizzas are soft and chewy and pillowy. The staff are all warm and friendly and the vibe is just relaxed and chill. Whether it’s a cold winter night sipping an old fashioned or a warm summer afternoon sipping a Negroni, there’s no other place I’d rather be at than Bar 314. This is a destination restaurant. Even if it was all the way down in the Financial District I’d travel to it.
We had a delightful Italian dinner experience at this charming spot featuring a lovely bar and pizza oven. We went on a Tuesday to enjoy jazz being performed by a friend and was thoroughly impressed by the food. The outdoor seating adds to the cozy ambiance, especially at night. The standout dish of the evening was the caponatta – truly exceptional with its layers of flavor and accompanied by delicious polenta crisp at thw bottom. I regretted sharing it, as it was so good. The pappardelle with short rib ragu was also a solid choice, and the Bari pizza was great. For dessert, the tiramisu struck the perfect balance of sweetness, though my friend couldn't resist eating most of it before I could join in. We paired our meal with a bottle of Toscanna Rosso 2019, priced at $48, which complemented our dishes perfectly. We got five glasses from itThe staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. I'm already looking forward to returning .

We tried getting a table today and the guy I guess he’s the manager or whatever the short older gentleman seeemed to be stressed out because it was busy or that we had kids with us but he said it would be a 30+min wait and made a face as if he wanted us to leave. So

This is a perfect little Italian date night spot! Totally a hidden gem in Morningside Heighs, it’s literally 16 minutes uptown on the 1 train and is serving up very high quality wood fire oven pizza and several legit pasta dishes! ?You can seriously taste the difference of a wood fire oven pizza versus not and their dough is homemade, light and airy. And they even have gluten free options. Dinner at the bar is also an option, their drink menu is kinda wild. Here were some menu highlights:? Columbia Pie: Vodka sauce, mozzarella, grana, double basil pesto? Gemelli: Fresh pasta with shrimp, tomato sauce, burrata, spicy peppers, spinach? Orecchiette: Broccoli rabe and ricotta pesto, sundried tomatoes, pecorino, fried mushrooms? Trick or Treat: Rye whiskey with cinnamon, Campari, honey, and Nardini Amaro

Pizza is on the spot on! Brick Oven pizza and wine yes to combination.
This was an intimate and comfortable spot to eat with friends. The waiter was knowledgeable and personable, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was very good. I won't forget the first taste of the marinara on the margherita pizza - flavorful, aromatic, and fresh. If you're around, don't hesitate to go in.

I’m not celiac, so possible cross-contamination in a brick oven isn’t a big concern. We found them because they make their own GF crust. I’ve been eating GF pizzas around NYC this week, and I have to say that this is the most “authentic” crust I’ve had so far. So doughy and very good. The pizza is more like Italian pizza than New York style. The cocktails are amazing as well and very Italian-based. The drinks remind us of being in Italy this summer. And if you still have room for dessert, try the churros with Nutella. Generous portion! Highly recommend!

Had dinner there this evening, there was no bread brought to the table, even after our order was placed. I had to ask ( we did not order pizza). I ordered a salad and had to ask for salt and pepper as there was none on the table. when the pasta dish came out, there was never any cheese offered. You can do better at a pizzeria for far less $. Really sub par service.

What do you do when you order a lasagna and it has too much heat and when you let the waiter/server know he says the put nutmeg in the spice????? I go on to say what? The heat is in the meat or sauce. He goes somewhere and returns with confirmation that the meat has the spicy spice. Never offers to change dish as on the menu the hot spice in the lasagna dish is never mentioned. Worst experience ever. To add insult to injury when he brings bill he stated that. Because we were a party of six the gratuity was automatically included. We were never a party of SIX we were a party of FOUR. Go to the video tape!!! Do you need money?? Very disappointed and definitely not what we expected.
