Have to start with: we did takeout for lunch, which may have changed the whole experience. The sushi was amazing and I can't recommend it enough. We also had the mushroom dumplings, which were good, and the chik'n bao, which was okay. It was a solid meal, just didn't blow my mind particularly- except for the sushi. I have no idea how they do vegan salmon like that, it's awesome!

The shiitake dumplings are to die for. But if you don't like spicy ask for the hot sauce on the side instead of on the dumplings. Also watch out for the other dishes, the crab sushi is a bit spicy too, ask about it, it's not indicated. Staff very friendly.

Ordered the lunch special, way too much food, I'm so happy. Shitake truffle dumplings best thing I've ever eaten! Great Shoyu Ramen and just lively Spicy "Tuna" roll.

Very busy! And on weekdays from 11:30-2 they have a deal for lunchtime specials. I was able to get a roll and a dumping dish for 17 in total!

Dropped by Beyond Sushi in NYC for a lunchtime adventure, ready to dive into their plant-based menu. Here’s the scoop:The "Mighty Mushroom" roll left me wanting more—more filling, less rice. The hefty amount of rice kind of muscled out the flavors of the mushrooms and ginger, tilting towards the dry side.On a brighter note, the Shiitake Dumplings didn’t disappoint. They packed enough punch to stand out, proving that good things do come in small packages.Presentation-wise, Beyond Sushi nails it. It's easy to see why it’s dubbed an Instagram haven. Each dish is a visual feast, making you pause for a snap before you eat. But, while the aesthetics had me at hello, I was hoping the flavors would sweep me off my feet, especially considering the price tag.Space inside is a bit of a squeeze, even by New York City standards. My tip? Sidestep the lunch rush or any peak time if you're after a more relaxed vibe to enjoy your meal. All in, it wasn’t half bad. The experience had its highs and lows, but I’m open to giving Beyond Sushi another whirl down the road.

Little disappointing that the menu now leans heavily on processed meat substitutes, leaving only a few choices that resonate with my preferences.
I was/am a big fan of their brown rice veggie rolls, yet disappointingly, the selection has shrunk to just three options from what used to be an extensive list. The ‘mighty mushroom' roll, in particular, is a favorite of mine and thankfully still making an appearance among the sparse choices remaining.

Very high quality, fresh vegan sushi and Japanese inspired dishes that have tons of flavor, imagination. You’re getting that creative sushi that can be missed if you’re vegan or eat plant-based. The “beef” dumplings were to die for, spicy with ginger. The sushi of course was fantastic.Vegetarian options: The entire menu is vegan!

We had the truffle dumplings and the bao buns with "chicken". Both dishes were very good. The restaurant isn't the cheapest though.

The chik'n bao buns & cheesecake were amazing. I thought the ramen could have been warmer and more flavorful though.
