The staff is nice, but the chicken really needs to be overhauled. Something must have changed recently since I see other reviews sharing similar things of what I experienced. Unfortunately the chicken is very dry, and the fry layer is very thick and hard and there’s very little sauce on it. I get Korean chicken fairly often, and for instance BBQ chicken on 32nd st is lightyears ahead of this. There the chicken is super juicy and plenty of sauce etc. Hope they can get back on track, as it’s otherwise an okay spot!

Even though the place was empty we were tempted by the cheap offer for dinner + beer. What can I say, it was an excellent idea, the place was nice, clean and tidy. The waiter very kind and helpful. In a short time we were able to eat some excellent fried chicken, not too heavy and well cooked. The beer selection was also very interesting. A nice dinner, absolutely recommended.

I absolutely love Bonchon especially the chicken but was disappointed the last time I came. I was here on march 22nd and noticed that the menu and workers were different from usual. What was a lot more different was the chicken though. The chicken is usually a nice golden brown with a good amount of sauce as shown in the first photo, but when I last came in the chicken was a dark brown with little sauce as shown in the second photo and tasted burnt. The rice was also a different taste than usual. Maybe it was just this once day because overall the food every other time was very good and the service as well is always amazing. This however was the only time I have been disappointed with my meal.

I used to be a regular at this place, particularly during lunchtime for their bibimbap with extra bulgogi. However, I've noticed a significant decline in the amount and quality of bulgogi in my orders recently. Despite paying for regular size and extra bulgogi, the portions seem to shrink every time and the meat quality is noticeably poorer (alot of fat)! Wont go there anymore!

Ordered the spicy chicken taco and drum/wing combo with half and half sauce w/ fries. The spicy chicken taco was amazing. It has a hint of gochujang and very flavorful with a nice crunch of veg. I would definitely come back again for it.The wings was good but the drum was a bit dry and under the layer of skin looked like old chicken with a slight greenish grey color, making it unappetizing. The skin was crunchy dry?? just also questionable for the drums and barely any meat, having a air bubble between the meat and skin. The server was very nice and attentive, grabbing extra napkins for me and keeping my water full multiple times.

After attending a nearby Japanese fair, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a newly opened branch of Bonchon on 23rd street. Although they were still in the process of obtaining their alcohol license, we were able to enjoy a refreshing glass of water. The restaurant is spacious and pristine, just like any other Bonchon branch. As we were the only customers at the time, we had the freedom to choose our seats at the back. Once seated, we promptly placed our order. We decided on 10 pieces of chicken wings, half soy garlic and half spicy. I personally enjoy eating Bonchon wings with rice, so I also ordered a bowl.To supplement our meal, we ordered beef japchae, which was freshly made and incredibly delicious. We were pleased to find that this Bonchon location was less crowded than others we had visited before. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
