From the moment you step into Bono Trattoria, you're enveloped by a wave of warm, homey Italian ambiance that feels like a big, welcoming hug. My partner and I have been loyal patrons for years, and every visit reaffirms why this place holds such a special spot in our hearts. Let's talk about the food - oh, the food! It's nothing short of sublime. Our go-to dishes are a testament to the culinary magic that happens in Bono's kitchen. The Calabrese pizza boasts the perfect blend of spicy and savory, topped with just the right amount of crispiness. The Strangozzi pasta, always al dente, paired with its robust sauce, transports you straight to Italy with every bite. And the Branzino with shrimp? A delightful dance of flavors that's light yet satisfyingly rich. Despite our favorites, we've adventured through the entire menu over the years, and every dish is a hit. No kidding, everything here is just amazing! But the cherry on top has to be their daily specials - each day offers a new surprise to tantalize your tastebuds, crafted with the freshest ingredients and an inventive twist that keeps us coming back for more. The service? Impeccable. The staff at Bono Trattoria are not just employees; they are heartwarmingly kind and genuinely caring individuals who go above and beyond to make your dining experience memorable. They treat everyone like family, which makes each visit so much more than just a meal. Bono Trattoria is not just a restaurant; it's a cornerstone of our neighborhood - a place where culinary excellence and heartfelt service merge to create something truly special. If you haven't been yet, you're truly missing out on one of the city's finest. Trust me, your tastebuds will thank you!

I love this place. The service, food, and happy hour are great. The only thing I would change is to dim the lighting a bit for a better ambiance.

Today I was in the restaurant everything was perfect except ONE incident that occurred 2 girls changing the diaper of ONE child after he changed them The dirty one put them on the table where everyone eats And with an attitude and arrogance he tells me mockingly I hope not It bothered you that it put me in a very bad mood And I'm very upset And no one did anything there to get his attention. I really look forward to meeting them again to make him eat his diaper and teach him a little respect to those two stupid ones. You know us very well, we have been going to your restaurant for many years and I have never seen anything like this. I am very, very disappointed.

Walking in while exploring the neighborhood. They offer a good happy hour selection with decent house wine. It's clear that thought was put into the wine selection, focusing on quality rather than just profit margins. The presence of a Neapolitan pizza-style oven manned by a skilled pizzaiolo added to the charm. The pasta was well prepared, and every dish emerging from the kitchen carried a delightful aroma.

I took my mother out to Bono Trattoria for her birthday dinner. Everything was absolutely perfect. Barbara, our server, was personable and gave us excellent feedback on her favorites when we asked. She was very attentive in making sure all our needs were met, and we also had a wonderful conversation. Turns out we are practically neighbors. I got the Grilled Polenta with the Mushroom Sauce as a starter. For my entree, I got the Pappardelle with Wild Boar Ragú. Both dishes were DELICIOUS, and I had ZERO complaints. My mom got the calamari as her starter as well as the Pappardelle. She was very pleased with her calamari and liked how it wasn't overly breaded and the cuts of calamari weren't too thick.Overall, I can't recommend Bono Trattoria enough. I've lived in the neighborhood for almost 15 years, and this is a top-tier spot to go for a nice dinner with a good vibe.

I had a wonderful experience at Bono, a cozy and authentic Italian restaurant in Harlem. The food was delicious, especially the brick oven pizza and the grilled octopus. The service was friendly and attentive, and the owner Graziella made us feel very welcome. The wine selection was also impressive, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend Bono to anyone looking for a great Italian meal in a charming atmosphere.

This is a wonderful spot to grab some well-made Italian fare without breaking the bank.I went here for a date night and had a lovely time! The staff were friendly, seated us and took our order quickly. We had two filling entrees, a bottle of wine, and a dessert and it ended up being under $100. It got a little busy and noisy by the time we left but that’s just living in a city I guess. The gnocchi were melt-in-your-mouth texture and their buttery flavor mingled well with the balanced savory of the bolognese. They were just what I needed to warm me up on a cold winter night and paired well with the red wine.Affordable, delicious, and friendly. We will return!
