Extremely rude staff, I came to have lunch and was told that solo diners can only sit at the bar when there were other tables open and therefore was turned away. I used to really love this restaurant have been coming for years, often solo. I've noticed that the service and food quality has gone seriously downhill.

Our server was SO rude, like I was surprised that a server would even be that rude to customers. She was very short with us, very inattentive, and rolled her eyes at us a few times. We even heard her talking badly of other customers with the other servers, for superficial things- like making fun of how they looked and spoke. Just a mean girl.I can understand being annoyed if we were bad customers (like returning a bunch of food) , but we were just normal.She was a short brunette girl wearing a green dress on 3/15. I didn't catch her name.Normally I don't care to leave reviews. But after experiencing that kind of service here I feel compelled to warn others. The food is okay, the atmosphere is really cute, but this is the worst service I've ever had. I've come here a few times before and had no issue, but I don't think I'll ever come again. If this type of behavior is allowed by management then I do not want to give any more of my money to this place.There are a ton of other restaurants in Nolita- go to those instead. Our server was so rude it ruined our lunch. The other servers seemed fine! It was really just our waitress.

The cutest café with super tasty tea and coffee. I've not eaten food there beyond the tarte which is TO DIE FOR. I love coming here!! Unfortunately their website does say that they offer gluten free bread but they don't actually have any; if they did I totally would get a meal there!

Cute little cafe off of Prince Street in SOHO. Tasty food, very friendly and good service, and reasonable prices. Somewhat limited menu however and a VERY tight/crowded space. The baked pasta was delicious - not just a baked mac and cheese for adults (photo included) - would recommend!

I have been to Cafe Gitane a handful of times, and have typically loved it, but I was a bit disappointed most recently. I ordered the couscous with chicken, which was masssively overcooked and did not taste freshly cooked. I’ll go back, as I hope this was an aberration, because it’s been a solid spot in the past.

Food is nothing worth mentioning. Place claims to have invented avocado toast. lol. Service is extremely nonchalant. The staff is very beautiful though. Very! Ambiance is old school French hipster. If that is your thing then this is your place to hang.

Just stopped by for a sit-down latte. It was very good and came with a mini chocolate square. The service was super slow while it wasn't even busy. The atmosphere was fine, outside and inside. Clean bathroom.

People will do anything to make a buck. Save your money and go to a real French restaurant or Moroccan restaurant. This place is fake. The service is horrible. I am French/Moroccan and I know how food should taste like.

This cafe has always been my favorite place in NYC. our waitress Olivia R is there everytime we go and truly brightens our day. This place is just special. I recommend the baked feta and the chicken sandwich (And ask for Olivia if you want to laugh)
