If you haven’t met Shurwell at Cafe Grumpy inside the Whole Foods, just stop what you’re doing now and go get yourself a coffee, latte, water…whatever gives you the chance to feel his positive energy for 3 minutes of your day.This entire staff at this spot are really fantastic. They all make great drinks and they all give a genuinely lovely experience. But Shurwell…this guy just lights up the whole room. He’s special. This Whole Foods has become my new cafe work spot because of him. Plus, it doesn’t get much better than grabbing your coffee and sitting outside literally ON the Highline while you get a little work done or have some conversation.This is the hidden gem you didn’t realize you were missing. And it’s kind of amazing.

Many thanks Ricardo for delicious caffe latte and Hot Chocolate. I finished my lunch at Whole Foods Market food hall and wanted to eat NY style cheese cake so I said I must have latte too. I found the Cafe Grumpy corner, Ricardo was so kind and helpful to prepare my drink and gave me complimentary hot chocolate when mentioned that my husband loves it. I will come back again. Highly recommended.

Pretty standard café inside Whole Foods with counter service to grab a coffee, tea, etc. However, if you want something to eat with your beverage you need to buy it off the shelf in another area of the supermarket. A plus is plenty of seating and with large windows streaming in light.

Don't let the name fool you, I walked out happier than when I came, the service was very nice, the baristas are friendly and make your order with care. The coffee is also uniquely delicious and this location is conveniently located in whole foods, a great way to end your grocery shopping
