Always lovely service and excellent food, but we were seated in a busy corner with a lot of small tables crammed together, and with the staff coming by and people squeezing in and out, my chair gets hit repeatedly, and I'm a very small person with my seat scooted in!

Although the service is impeccable, the ambience very cool, and the appetizers tasty, the entrees were disappointing. The flavor profiles were of a mass produced nature instead of a high quality gourmet-esq nature.

Cafe Luxembourg never fails to provide a wonderful dining experience overall and that is why it has hosted Upper West Siders throughout all the 27 years I've lived in the neighborhood.

The entire experience of dinner at Cafe Luxembourg was absolutely exceptional. Our waiter was terrific and patient. He did not rush us and allowed us to just talk over cocktails without bothering us to order. When we were ready to order I told him that I am allergic to garlic and he took the trouble to check with the chef which items on the menu I should avoid. The food was absolutely delicious! Nobody rushed us to finish even though we were the last patrons in the restaurant. I highly recommend Cafe Luxembourg and certainly will return in the not-too-distant future.

Cafe Luxembourg never fails to please. My daughter visiting from London had it on our to- do list, so we enjoyed a fabulous Easter dinner there. Green salad, Tuna burgers with frites and a hot fudge sundae to wrap things up. It doesn't get any better than that!!

Lovely atmosphere cordial service a pleasant experience and will go back. Though my food was tasty I was surprised that the daily special of chicken pot pie which contained delicious mushrooms had a few small cubes of chicken. I guess the chef thought it was sufficient. Well actually for the price I would skip it.

Review: Unfortunately, my experience at Unfriendly Eats was deeply unpleasant. The waiter's shameless flirting tactic by addressing my girlfriend as “dear” and use ofcondescending terms like "buddy" for me was incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. It's disheartening when such behavior tarnishes what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

Had dinner last night, 3/23/24. Service was exceptional, but I got severe food poisoning from the steak tartare. Be warned.

Ambiance and service 5/5. We had the absolute sweetest server who told us about being a singer songwriter and his creative experiences during COVID. He was just so nice and friendly and waited on us with such care even though we were only there for apps and drinks. Outside seating was lovely on a spring day! Food 5/5 for what we ordered but I wasn't in love with the menu options (4/5) and prices ($$-$$$). I absolutely loved the zucchini fries which came out piping hot and moist inside and a yuzu aioli dipping sauce which is why I had ordered it. My friend I dined with us a chef and he was impressed. We also got the broccolini, a classic dish, which was delicious. Mocktails 4/5 - we came to drink mocktails as both of us were not drinking. We were surprised to find a robust mocktail list; my friend got the phony Negroni and he sipped on his. I got this peach puree ginger mocktail which was delicious but not a large portion for $14. I would like to try some of the other mocktails if I come again. It's right by Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle, so I could see how it's a great location to meet up before another activity.

EDIT 3/7/2024: My father received a genuine heartfelt note from the owner apologizing for how we were treated by management/staff. She righted the wrongdoing we received. We consider this matter to be closed.I gave an extra star for service because our waitress was pleasant. My father is not well with pancreatic cancer and on a pretty restrictive diet. My mother wanted to come to this iconic legendary cafe as a final hurrah for their NY stay. This was his first outing three weeks post op. One of the few items he can easily have is a Grilled Cheese on white or sourdough bread. The GC offered at the cafe comes on RYE sourdough. We asked our waitress if they were able to make the GC on plain sourdough as it's offered as a side on many other dishes on the cafe menu. Our waitress said she'd check with the "chef". The "chef" was unwilling to accommodate a bread change. I understand the cafe is busy - but it's literally a Grilled Cheese. We told our waitress in advance that my father had just had major surgery and was on a certain diet. The manger came over and sent berries which my father can not have. We got the bill and the manager came again and said he took care of the drinks -- that was a pot of tea. While I appreciate the minimal effort this person took, the humanity of it all was missing. I had some harsh words for management upon leaving and the response was "I can appreciate what you're saying." The bottom line here is - you never know what people are going through. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
