The spatzle was ok and the chicken paprika over-seasoned. The highlight was the Feuilletine (hazelnut mousse cake), which reminded me of Sant Ambroeus Gianduia cake. The service was good friendly

Best Apple struddle in town. Basically all their deserts and pastries are unbelievably good. Busy and energetic atmosphere. Service a bit rushed and could be better, but place was packed and otherwise everything was great

Had an amazing visit! We waited in line for roughly 15 min and then ordered the Spätzle and the soup. This meal was the best we had in NY, worth the wait.Service was kind and formal.Good selection of German wine by the glass.

Amazing vibe, fantastic soup and delicious cakes. But why do you serve German water?

Beautifully presented, but subpar, $20 pickled herring sandwich, with razor thin slices of herring buried under an overwhelming mass of red onions. A year later is now $24 for the same...

Very long line to get in that starts out outside and takes at least 30-45 minutes so dress warm in the winter. The food is great, highly recommend butternut squash soup, schnitzel and sausages. All desserts are excellent, don’t miss the sachertorte.

Was there today for lunch, got the white asparagus soup.. it was good but salty. My dessert crepes with apricot filling was ok they give you only 2 and my passion fruit tea was delicious! Service was ok, the waiter was nice enough to call me madam but not kind enough to bring me the glass of water I asked for ( like I said soup was salty). I saw another review mentioning they felt like they were bias ….i think I got that feeling too not straight bias but in a subtle way, like I said my glass of water never came other tables had two glasses of water empty on their table per person. Anyways was my first time trying it … wasn’t impressed! But I was nice enough to give them the 25% tip ( the highest one on the printed receipt) cause that is the person I am. Hopefully they learn that they can be WRONG judging and adjusting people to their way of treating, making differences …. Hey ! I may not be ridiculous rich but my money is worth enough in a place where you don’t bargain to get a better price or to lowered it….right?

We waited for a hour to get in, but after waiting for so long, they kept rushing us to leave. The atmosphere is nice, not a clear view of Central Park since there’s a hedge blocking it. Terrible service and won’t even refill our pot of tea with hot water. We ordered 2 desserts one soup and with this price point you would think it would be relaxing but they kept wanting to clear our plates every so often. Their desserts are really good, especially their wide range of cake selections. Felt like they weren’t rushing other tables so possibly some biases in discrimination…

This place does not accept reservations, so if you go for breakfast, make sure you are standing on line by 10AM at the latest, or you might not get a table.Outside, there will be 2 separate lines, one for the Museum entry and the other, for the café. Before entering, you will be asked to open your purses and go through a metal detector for security purposes. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very european-like, really nice. The service a bit slow, but you may relax and be patient while you wait with their delicious coffee!

We had a group of six, and had to put 2 small round tables together which was cozy and fun, but not as nice as I had expected. The food was great, German menu, nice live piano music.

I had a delicious breakfast served by very friendly and accommodating team members in late March 2024.I arrived just after opening and was directed by Hector and Malone through the security check with the MOST wonderful welcome. I was in clean, walking attire and was unsure if I met the dress code. They said I was always welcome and genuinely meant it.I was directed to the cafe by another friendly gentleman and then the host confirmed that I could use contactless payment before being seated. You can pay contactlessly at the barista's station.I was seated near the window as it was approximately 10 minutes after opening and had a wonderful conversation with a regular patron whose requests the staff accommodated with a smile. My breakfast was the perfect portion size and my Viennese Hot Chocolate with a shot of espresso was delicious. I look forward to returning for lunch or an afternoon snack.

Not Asian friendly❗️I (East Asian) went here with my south Asian friend and basically was indirectly “forced out” of the restaurant because three different waiters asked “are you guys done here” too many times. We ordered 2 dishes and 2 coffees for brunch and were there for only 50 minutes before paying the bill. The waiter came to ask “can I take away your plates” 30 minutes in, when it was obvious that we have only finished half of the food in our plates. And they came 2 more times in 20 minutes. We were not done with the food at all. Any normal person could tell we were not done. But they didn’t care.I highly suspect that we received “special treatment” because ALL the other tables around us were not asked the question. Yes I was paying attention. The table next to us got asked that question once (seated around the same time) and the other table was not asked the question (the lady only ordered a plate and a coffee and was jogging things down in her notebook).
