Myself and an acquaintance dined at Carmine's for the first time. We actually stumbled upon this establishment by chance. We ordered the seafood pasta which at first, we were told was $84.00. However, it cost $95.00. It was no big deal as our server was pleasant and engaging. However, the Maitre D was the total opposite. He was abrupt, and presented an air of he was doing us a favor by seating us?The individual brought the menus, left them on the table without ANY pleasantries. A Welcome to Carbines, your server will be with you shortly, etc., was non existent. He does not represent the establishment well.

So delicious huge portions! Service is great- staff knows their menu and pairings. Very friendly and family oriented. Children are welcomed.

Didn't seem like the Carmines I went to many years ago. Food was okay. Sent back the plain chicken cutlets because $33 for two thin pieces couldn't possibly be a family sized portion. Waiter was nice. Ordered the salmon special and was pleased with the portion. $22 for a shot of Patron is also insane. Probably won't come here again.

The food is good if you like huge portions and a cheese heavy menu. The service should have been on par or better with the food quality, but unfortunately it was not. Had the service staff been friendly and smiled I would have given this place a 3 overall.Michael Scott: "Like right here is my favorite New York Pizza Joint. I'm gonna go get me a New York slice" - Walks into Sbarro.Look, there is nothing wrong with Sbarro; but to call it authentic Italian or even authentic NY?Carmines is fine, but know and understand what it is and expect nothing more.

The food was good but the service was lacking. This would be an awesome place if they trained the servers to be more respectful. Servers make a mistake on your order but then tell management that the customer placed the wrong order. Luckily, I was sitting close enough to hear my waiters conversation with management. If you make a mistake, own it.

We got Carmine's catering for a large event. The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff was helpful and friendly, and Kate and her team set the food up in a way that made the whole evening a success. Would highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Carmines was great at working with us to make sure that everyone's dietary needs were met. The gluten-free pasta was a hit!

This is where I came to celebrate my high school and college graduations. I brought my eldest daughter here to give her a taste of the same experience when she earned top scores on standardized tests. Emily chose sandwiches for herself and her siblings while I got the calamari and chocolate mud cake that my family has loved for generations.Vegetarian options: My husband has been able to choose vegetarian options off the menu.Dietary restrictions: There are a variety of options for different dietary requirements.Parking: It's Manhattan. Parking is about what you would expect.Kid-friendliness: Extremely kid friendly. The decor is substantial and sturdy, with lots of space between the large tables. This is a family style restaurant, down to the enormous portions.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

In my opinion, it’s the best Italian restaurant in New York City! I’ve been to many Italian restaurants and none are as good as here. If you are thinking of having Italian food then why not bring the family to here? You will not be disappointed, amazing food and drinks. Staff were great too! Of course we will be back.

My friend hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at Carmine's for about 30 people. The food and service were great, and the service was friendly and efficient. The food was preordered before the meal, and next courses were brought out as we finished the previous course. The portions are GIANT. I eat a lot, and I feel like each plate can be easily shared with at least 4 people. The waiters even sang a song at the end with dessert for the happy couple. We had a private dining area that fit the whole party, though seated a little close together. Decorations set the mood for a traditional Italian family dinner.
