The time is 11:14am. Today is April 18, 2024. I walked in ready to try their avocado toast. There was a woman already at the counter. She was being serviced and she and the gentleman at the counter were chatting a bit. I'm standing behind the woman patiently waiting to be addressed so I can order and then take my seat. I walked in at 10:56am. I was quietly and patiently standing behind this woman. At 10:58am, a white woman walks in and before she could look up, the gentleman at the counter addresses her and says "Hello! Please sit anywhere you'd like." For the 2 minutes I was standing in line, he didn't even make eye contact with me. I walked out and walked over to CooperTown Diner where the service so far has been a 10/10. Tell fake ass Zayn Malik that works at Citizens of Gramercy to do better!!

Place was rad! Get the kale bowl or the chorizo. The waffle was lackluster at best. My 8 year old said it tasted like the frozen waffles we built from the grocery store. But, gosh the Chorizo dish was fantastic and the sourdough taste that came with it was spot on. My cousin who live near by and had never been before today, says he’ll be back.Next time we’re in town we’ll enjoy their quality coffee and try another signature dish.

I loved the smashed avocado with poached eggs and I can’t forget to mention the velvet latte so delicious. I will recommend Citizens to everyone.

The food is great but the service is consistently lazy. There has been a mistake with nearly every order we place but I can look past that. What I don't like is how they stop serving drip coffee 40-45 min before the store closes. I understand if its moments before closing but I have actually gone in an hour before the advertised closing time and told that drip coffee was done for the day. Clearly this isnt the greatest problem in the world. I'm a nurse, I see real problems daily. But it is a COFFEE house. If they staff have a problem serving the product they are paid to serve, then perhaps they should consider a different professionn. Just please steer clear from nursing because when you are lazy in my line of work, people die.

super cute brunch cafe near Gramercy Park! Personally I felt it's pricey for the portion you get (my golden french toast was $15 for one piece of toast)

Although it did feel like we were squished in there, it did fill up quickly, so I appreciate the need to keep good space. We shared Nutella French toast and it was fantastic. Also, love that you could have a glass of bubbly too.

Great service and great food! We came in on Sunday around 11am and were seated right away. I ordered the smashing avocado and my friend ordered the BBQ pulled pork. Both were delicious and filling, highly recommend coming here.

Had a wonderful time dining in at Citizens! We had the cheddar biscuit brekkie sándwich and a big brekkie! What a nice refreshing spot to have in our backyard! Coffee was also wonderful along with the staff. I believe we were being helped out by a lady named Des or Lez. Will be coming back!

I love Citizens of Chelsea but Citizens of Gramercy was not a good experience. As soon as we walked in they told us that we could only have a table if we would be gone by a certain time because they had reservations soon. I thought this was a little weird but we agreed. As we were waiting for a waiter we tried having conversation but the music was so loud we couldn’t hear eachother and they were playing club music which doesn’t really seem like a breakfast vibe but the volume was more the issue. Not only were we rushed to order our food but when we received it everything was cold. Eggs, chili, toast, bacon, even my coffee- all cold. We shared the big brekkie and it was alot of mushy tomatoes and the “toast” was soggy and untoasted. We were given the check without being asked how the food was or if we wanted to order anything else. The waitress just places it on the table and walked away. Not even a thank you. Worst breakfast experience I’ve had in a while.

I came in this afternoon and was greeted by a server named Xavier, I had ordered eggs Benny with a velvet latte and boy I was wondering who made my velvet latte because it was delicious. Xavier was very polite, genuine, hands on, and on time with my order. I hope by me leaving this review the gentleman will be given the recognition for his amazing service. thank you again for this amazing service I will definitely come back and visit again.
