The service was really good. It's a nice large space for indoor dining. The food was good but not great. We tried a few different dishes as we were a big group and we thought everything was average or above average. Nothing was outstanding unfortunately.

Don't make my mistake and order a pot thinking it's just for one. See hand for comparison. Good food.

Decent Chinese food -- would be the best place in lots of smaller towns -- but doesn't compare favorably to many other options (even in Midtown). They were out of both the crab and lobster when we dined there, as well as one of the vegetable options, so it's possible that it would have been a better experience with other dishes. Beef and tripe with chili appetizer: 4/5 Fish fillet in chili sauce: 4/5 Napa cabbage with chicken: 3/5 (too soupy, cabbage cut too thin, and chicken is a subpar umami option relative to dried shrimp / dried scallops used in other versions) Price is similar to the other places but environment / decorations feel a bit cheaper. Not a big deal but they should compete on one of: value, food, experience and they don't really stand out in any of them.

We've been coming here for YEARS. Even during COVID we would come for take out. The food has generally been good so we had never had an issue until the other night. We tried to send a dish back because it tasted weird and the manager was incredibly rude. She argued with us and refused to take the item back. She refused to remake the dish. It was surprising because we go there all the time... That being said, we won't be coming back again... it's clear our business isn't appreciated ‍

The food is amazing. The service is great. We found the place by chance on a rainy day and were glad we did. Highly recommend.

Service is super good. But the food is not authentic. If you are Chinese and looking for authentic Chinese food, you will probably not come to this place. Also the majority of customers are for carry out. There were only a few tables used for dine in customers.

The food is good and spicy! This full size, 20-some table restaurant looks like a hole-I-the-wall from the sidewalk. However, they are on a side street in an area surrounded by hotels. It is an ideal place to pick up very good Szechuan food quick to have in your room. My only criticism is that the soup was too cooled by the time I got it back to my room. If they could hold off on putting the soup in the bag until you got there to pick the meal up, it would be perfect.

We were last minutes customers and I ordered the spicy fish soup. My goodness it was amazing. My taste buds were going crazy with this soup. Was suppose to go again the next day but as tourist it got late for us. Will definitely come back to this place in near future

The lunch hour menu is $12-$13.I had some spicy dried hot pot style pork. You are gonna feel like you are in Chinatown. I would say it’s a very typical and basic Chinese food, but it’s good quality!!(rice and soup were included)

Very good Chinese takeout! Ordered the veggie spring rolls (a little overdone, but still tasty), broccoli with garlic sauce (needed a bit more sauce, but the taste was great and the broccoli remained crunchy not overcooked), and general Tso's chicken (also tasted tender and fresh unlike some places where it tastes like it's 5 days old). Will be coming back!

Best crispy cucumbers I've ever had.Came here for dinner and got the crispy cucumbers and the fish fillet in numb and spicy chili broth. The crispy cucumbers were fresh and a very nice tangy/spicy sauce. For the fish, I did ask for extra ma and they tried. I think they must have thought that I didn't want any la, so it lacked chili, but they loaded up the Szechuan peppercorn in an attempt to make it numbing. It was pretty good and very lemony, with some numbing.I'd come back to try some other things. The staff were extremely friendly and they have plenty of seating.

Five stars - for overall quality, portion size & value. Great lunch specials ! Today I tried the Lunch special - Mapo Tofu - it included a generous amount of rice and a regular size Wonton soup. The Mapo Tofu spice level was fine, I like it a little more spicy & plan to mention that next time. I've tried this dish before, while visiting China. Da Tang reminds me of the food I experienced there. And for 12$ ? Wow! Da Tang's lunch specials are one of the best deals around. Recommend for a quick affordable meal in Midtown Manhattan- unless you can go downtown for other options..... Excellent find!

We stopped by for lunch and had the Hunan Chicken and the Chicken and String beans. Hunan Chicken: they gave a ton of chicken and a decent amount of vegetables. Chicken with String Beans: So good! Portion size was right and they gave a generous portion of well seasoned string beans. For the lunch special, you get one entrée, one bowl of rice and one bowl of soup for $12!
