First off, food was amazing, portion was very reasonable for the price, but the lady at the counter was extremely rude, no manners, no courtesy, didn’t really try to help except charge for our order, and I believe she purposely forgot to give us our cutlery, besides that everything was else was ok

Today I ordered 2 dishes, one was Jelly and I didn't like it at all, it lacked more flavor and on top of that I got several raw squid, the quantity of the dish was normal and it came with sarsa criolla and chili, I also ordered a monster chicken. The chicken still lacked a lot of flavor, the chaufa that accompanied it was good, it had a smoky flavor, I recommend it, and the fries were nothing out of this world...in conclusion, you have to improve the seasoning, gentlemen, I'm Peruvian and I love my food a little more. love the dishes please (photo of jelly attached)

Went here on 01/28/2024 for a late lunch. Ordered ceviche de pescado ($16) and my partner got ceviche mixto ($17).We always stop by during our trips to nyc/chinatown but today the ceviche was mid missing something juice is not creamy white but yellow and tastes off. Portions have gone down significantly. The main guy on the grill/ cook is Salvadorian. If you’re Peruvian pass on this ceviche and try your luck somewhere else.If your into new recipes and not the traditional stuff this place is for you. Cashier was friendly and located in Essex market plan accordingly little to no seating if it is busy.

A los peruanos somos exigentes en la comida, y fue como comer en casa, como un seco de Cabrito, y me encanto

I finally tried this place I walked past all the time at Essex Market. I love Peruvian food and was just there a couple months before, so was looking to rekindle some memories. I was in the Andes, and most Peruvian restaurants here offer Lima style foods, but chauffa, or fried rice, is everywhere. That they offer a quinoa version is a welcome healthy option, and I chose the mixed, which comes with chicken and shrimp. When I opened the container, it smelled so delicious with wafts of sesame and onions. Sadly, mine was a bit under seasoned, needing salt, but their delicious green sauce helped elevate the flavors. Will ask for salt next time.

I recently bought the Lomo Saltado and it was very unappealing. It's like the cook put too much water and everything became soaked and soggy, especially the fries.

I was in theLocal and to begin with the service is reluctant, as if one is going to eat for free, they must know how to choose their staff, what a shame, if that is the service, what will the food be like?

Exceptional food and service. I opted for the marine/marino combo, ideal for two or more people. A friend recommended this restaurant, and I will certainly be recommending it to others in my circle. Well done!

The Lomo Saltado is some of the best that I have had in NYC. It is also under $20, which is incredible rare nowadays on Manhattan. They're easily a recommended option for lunch!

Just had delicious lunch at Don Ceviche on 1st Ave. the ceviche, causa sampler and grilled octopus were fabulous. A small space but very nice, cozy. Like being in a family spot in Lima... A wonderful addition to the East Village.
