Mexican cuisine is top 3 for me! Tacos & Tequila?! Sign me up! Dined here on a summer Saturday night. We opted to sit outside. Their outdoor setup is bomb! Private rooms inclusive of portable ac's, sliding doors and heaters! Our room was able to accommodate 4ppl. Service here is great.... Multiple employees checked on us throughout our entire stay. Started the party with an El Jefe (spicy margarita) as my cocktail. BOMB! Strong and spicy with a tajin rim. For my meal I had a steak chimichanga... deep fried stuffed with steak, rice, beans, lettuce & salsa. My burrito was fully stuffed and seasoned well. I was able to eat half and take the other half to go. Steak tacos were flavorful too but the fish taco not so much. El Ecanto serves up Mexican just the way I like it!!

What a charming place!!! We lived in Texas for many years and we spent quite a bit of time in the Rio Grande Valley. Thus, I know the difference between authentic Mexican and Tex Amex. I also know the difference between GOOOD Mexican and mediocre . This is better than better than "good". As a matter of fact, it's better than that We had the Queso and it was full of veggies and meat, the chimichanga was huge, the rice and beans beans were quite flavorful ...everything was delicious. The service was personable and attentive and while we did not have margaritas, we saw serval and they looked yummy. Next time!

I've been coming here every week for the last two years and have never been disappointed! The entire staff is incredible! Giovanni always goes above and beyond to make our visit perfect! Sandy is great too! Can't say enough about this place!

I went at this place yesterday and they treated me so poorly with no respect the waitress was looking so angry wit a very bad service and they put automatically 20% tip for something they didn't deserve and when I asked the manager he said that they take 20% when you spend over a $100 and they will not take my payment from my electric Visa card and and want me to go leave my kids their to go take out money and come back to pay I really feel like I have to report this to the BBB

Must try: Tacos Placeros and Strawberry Margarita on the Rocks! Why: I loved the tacos in corn tortillas mixed with Mexican chorizo and skirt steak topped with garlic, onions, guacamole, and grilled cactus. The cactus was a nice touch! Also came with rice and beans, so very filling entree. Chips and guacamole and salsa were good starters. I especially liked the homemade chips. I washed everything down with a refreshing Strawberry Margarita on the rocks. My friends ordered a Wet Burrito, which was huge and looked so delicious. Notes: We came on a Friday after lunch but before happy hour so we're seated right away. The waiter was super fun and helpful! Also, I appreciated the outdoor seating, which were semi private/enclosed seating spot. Solid spot for Mexican food and to celebrate with friends with some margaritas!

A nice local joint with nice outdoor dining. It can get cold but they have these heaters that are pretty good. I love how personal the outdoor dining is with a door. The drinks are good & not too strong in taste. We ordered guac with chips, i would not recommend as the guac was not very flavorful & tasted bland. However my main dish was delicious. The sweet plantains were very soft & perfect for my taste.

Fortaleza is one of my favorite tequilas, and the outdoor seating was comfortable and warm! The mosaic tile in the restrooms were so beautiful and there were small touches of detail that showed why they are so successful!

This place never disappoints me. The customer service, food, environment and most importantly the drinks I have had most of the menu but there's so much to try. I can say a whole lot but the wait staff super friendly the owner or manager

Have you ever had French Toast smothered with Squash cream puree, candy roaster squash, cinnamon sticks and candied pecans? Do your taste buds a favor and get them over to this spot for brunch! If you're a french toast lover, you won't be disappointed. Yes, it tastes as delicious as it looks...let me know what you think when you've tried it.

I loved this place since they were located at 112th and lenox. Imagine my delight when I found out they just moved and didnt close down like i previously thought. I have been back a few times since i rediscovered the placem. Food is simple and delicious. Staff is so kind and it feels like they go the extra mile to make me feel welcome. I have never had a dish I didnt like from this restaurant.

The food was bland, and the waiter seemed to be in a mood.... seemed irritated... zero personality. I did like the colorful sectioned off seating area. When we got the bill, he automatically added gratuity for a party of three. There's no "encanto" here.
