The pork Al Pastor torta offered at Essex Taqueria stands as a culinary masterpiece, showcasing a meticulous blend of flavors and textures. The tender, marinated pork, meticulously prepared and infused with traditional spices, captivates the palate with its succulence and depth of flavor. Complemented by the creamy richness of the cheese and the buttery smoothness of the avocado, each bite unveils a symphony of taste sensations that delight the senses. It is an exemplary representation of culinary artistry, demonstrating the mastery and attention to detail of the chefs at Essex Taqueria.

For a quick neighborhood delicious Mexican food delivery, you'll get just that! It's not that I didn't enjoy and inhale the entire burrito in less than three seconds, because I did..... It's just that the pork burrito had no flavor of pork whatsoever! SO, if you're vegetarian, you could order this, you wouldn't know there was any meat in it I also got the beef Torta... it hit the spot, but again don't get pork. It's full of fat., but tasty!

Granted I ate here after a night out but they have amazing tacos which are quite substantial in size. I have been dying to go back!

I got my got my girlfriend food here she loves their food. She gets a steak bowl and nothing spicy and i order it saying nothing spicy. But today they put spicy sauce so she called and told them her order was wrong they told her I ordered her food with everything. The first thing I said was NOTHING SPICY and they told her I was lying she was on the phone with me when I ordered the food so she knows what I ordered she continued to tell them that she was on the phone with me and the lady told her it wasn't our problem and proceeded to hang up.. she called again and they kept forwarding her calls she got A call back from them ans they told her that I said everything on it and said that they have a lot of orders that they cannot deal with her and that's I was lying and that it's not my problem when she asked if it can be remade they said no that it wasn't their problem and hung up. We go here a lot for her cause she loves their food and they usually have an attitude with us but we never put to much thought but today was the last straw

Hit up the taco truck on Avenue A and 2nd street instead of this place. Decided to update this review in case I’d gone there on an off day. In fact no update needed. This place was at one time (circa 2018) the best in the neighborhood and now it’s one of the worst.

Decent in a pinch but somewhat lacking flavor in tacos. Better nearby.

It's a little hole in the wall kind of place but those are the ones that are good! Had spicy chicken and shrimp tacos. They're very generous with the filling and both were really delicious. Took me right back to Mexico city. I just had these last night and I'm craving them already this morning. There are about three little tables and a few stools along the wall if you want to sit inside but it's quite small. The people working are also very, very, nice!

Be warned! VERY questionable food practices. I once had chorizo that tasted outright bad/rancid. One of the few meals that I've outright had to chuck out in my life. I had another bad experience with them on a different meat and decided to call it quits - permanently. To add insult to injury, they used to have some of the best chicken tinga in the city. It was seared cubes but then they switched to bland pulled chicken which is a complete joke because Essex LES is literally across the street and has the best pulled chicken in NYC.

This place is not good. The fish taco and quac were both bland. The chips were so greasy and just tasted like the oil they was cooked in. I was so disappointed in the lack of flavor. Would not recommend.

Heyyy maybe you just don't feel like waiting in the line around the corner at Katz to get a Sammy. Eat some great tacos at this little spot then cross the street to the candy store and fully indulge your sweet tooth!

Hands down the best tacos in all of NYC! My partner and I come here all the time. Out of all the places we have tried, these are always consistently good. They are also reasonably priced as well and are open late. Highly recommend!
