I'm sorry, but for $15, I'd expect more than a condiment cup for chips and salsa. This absolutely pathetic

We live in Dubai and come to NYC a couple of times a year. We always stay in Chelsea and come to Fonda. The food is epic!!! The guac is so creamy and delicious. Tacos are a massive hit with their intense yummy Flavours. But it’s their homemade frozen Hibiscus Tea Margaritas that are the center of the show. How do they make such an incredible taste??! Service is always impeccable. But book ahead as it is ALWAYS busy! Their weekend brunch is well worth it as well if you are in town over the weekend. You won’t regret eating and drinking here! My fav restaurant in the world!
I've been to two Fonda restaurants - Park Slope and Chelsea. This review is for Chelsea which is slightly less noisy (still very noisy) during dinner rush than Park Slope. Both restaurants are packed tightly but the food is delicious and the wait staff never ignores you. Not for the hearing impaired or for someone who likes to fling their arms around when they talk. Otherwise, I'll be coming again because the menu is that good.

Great food off the specials and tasty drinks. We like the pollo norteno and queso fundido. Noise level is little high (you can hear tables very close to you) and last night there was delay in getting us plates for our pollo norteno. Overall recommend highly.

Great food. Great service. Guacamole and tortilla margaritas. Try the Spicy blood orange margarita.
Great cocktails, esp the blood orange margarita! Guacamole was super fresh and delicious, and the enchiladas suizas was a table favorite. The goat milk flan was rich, sweet and the perfect dessert w coffee. Will be coming back—- our friends also tried the Tribeca location and said it was really good too

HOT TIP: Happy Hour food ALL NIGHT at the bar on Monday’s! The happy hour food priced at $11/dish is delicious, portions are large, and service is pretty quick. Small restaurant but for a winter Monday night there was no wait to sit at the bar. Highly recommend this place! Simply excellent Mexican food and lots of veggie vegetarian options. Beef tostados had more beef than could be lifted by the chip - a great problem to have!

Fine food and experience, just nothing special or stand
Solid choice for Mexican food and drinks... Cozy place with festive decorations... Their guac for two is yummy... Along with anything steak :-) prices tend to be a little higher than other Mexican restaurants with similar yummy options. The atmosphere here is better... Drink prices s tend to be on the elevated level as well...Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian menu if requestedDietary restrictions: They may try to accommodate if you ask, but it is not stated anywhere on the menuParking: There are some paid parking garage and street parking available... Depending on the time and the day, it may be very hard.Kid-friendliness: Not particularly kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: May be hard to get to, very narrow entryway. The second floor I don't believe is accessible at all.

Would give 10 stars if possible! Olivia was extremely welcoming and accommodating when we needed to step out- mid dining (!) for an apartment viewing around the corner. We returned to find our seats saved, food order perfectly timed and on its way. Excellent service, delightful atmosphere, and high quality, delicious cuisine. We will certainly be returning. Thank you, Fonda, for nailing what hospitality means in these modern and busy times ??

Whenever I travel to New York , I stop at Fonda. The Sopa de tortilla is a highlight and should not be missed. Our experience this time was heightened by the excellent service from Olivia, the manager. Thank you
