Located on 3rd Avenue and 93rd, this store has been around for many, many, years. It's a real neighborhood gem. They are doing the best they can now, but I encourage it's new and established customers to purchase as many items there as they need. Raj, the manager is highly knowledgeable about the products, He knows his customers and caters to us. He is kind and generous and has given special attention to customers in the neighborhood. He visited my friend in the hospital after a major operation, with treats. Food For Health sells a vast variety of items including organic veggies, coffee, tea, dried and canned goods, dairy, smoothies, fresh peanut butter, frozen meals, snacks, spices, vitamins, etc, etc., etc.

This place is a gem, the store is deceptively small but they have SOOOOO MUCH STUFF here. All natural, organic toiletries, food, supplements, tinctures, oils, remedies, JUST EVERYTHING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Every time I visit my family in Manhattan, this is where I go. Great selection of healthy, organic, and very reasonable prices. Especially compared to other stores in the area. Staff is helpful and they run a tight ship!

This place is a find! And I have walked by it 50 times without knowing it was a great place to shop. So much better than the little place that was around 84th or 85th on Third that recently closed and was pricey and not so friendly (though it was still a bummer that they closed...but it forced me to research what else was out there!). Also they have a much better selection than Whole Foods! There are lot of items are crammed into the small space, New York style, and I was surprised at how very reasonable the prices were. Much less expensive than elsewhere. The place was hopping with a lot of people who seem to be from the neighborhood. The staff seemed to be there because of the products and the store, rather than just there doing a job. I will definitely be returning here for things I've bought elsewhere, things that have been hard to find elsewhere, and to check out other products they have. Support local merchants like this one!
