I had some time to kill and I read about the Ramen here so I decided to pay it a visit. It was a chilly day in April and you most likely will have to wait outside in front so keep that in mind weather wise. It is a small place with a few tables so you sign in at the entrance and just wait outside for a table. The wait was pretty fast and people just eat and leave. I waited 10 minutes. Of course I ordered the black garlic Ramen and this literally was the best Ramen I've ever tasted. It was very flavorful and I especially loved the thin noodles. I feel like that makes a big difference when eating Ramen. Thin noodles just elevates the dish. The staff was super friendly and I can't wait to return.

Low key but awesome intimate ramen shop. Kind of like a hidden gem in the city. Top notch service. Can't go wrong with anything you order on the menu. Ramen is a must with takoyaki and mochi to top it off. Highly recommended.

Its a small cozy spot that they really made the best of in terms of layout. Went in for lunch Monday about 1pm. There were 3 other small parties there and all had already either received their food or had ordered already. We were told to have a seat. The menus were briskly dropped off. We ordered cucumbers as the app, two green teas, a white ramen bowl, and a curry lunch set with gyoza. The tea came which was disappointing because for $3/cup, you dont expect a bagged tea. I tried to drink it twice but it tasted really bitter and not like any green tea ive ever had, which is probably in the 100s of cups in my adult lifetime...After we got the cucumbers, which were actually really good-- fresh tasting with more of a kimchi flavor than anything else--We had to ask for waters and then we had to ask for straws, the next time we caught the server. The straws came after the server walked by twice before. She must have also seen one person at the table accidentally knock over their tea bc the place is tiny but she didnt come over to check however she did bring fresh napkins with the food without being asked since we used them cleaning the spill ourselves. Getting down to business: Ive tried the number 1-3 ranked best ramen's in San Francisco's Japantown and the #1 ranked ramen in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo-- this did give you that nice fatty layer on your lips but the flavore was lacking just not a rich taste to it. Had to add flavor via chili oil. The gyoza had a browned pan fried glaze which seemed promising. Unfortunately for me, the filling was all ground chicken-- tasted like chicken sausage which i just dont like sausage in general so was not to my liking. I dipped in chili oil and that helped me eat two. Ok the curry is one of the other options beside ramen in the lunch set options, and the menu said it was a homemade recipe, so I thought it was going to be really good... well if you look at the photo of the overall plate, the presentation is great. When you look at it closely though and taste it, you'll see why it was not a hit. So the salad was good, it tasted clean and the dressing was standard but the tomato was the end part that i generally dont eat-- I'm sure a lot of people do, but I dont... so there was that. There were only two pieces of carrots served in the curry and the chicken katsu was burned. To me, if you actually plate food that is clearly overcooked and not edible, then that's saying there's a real problem with your kitchen and also your server. After walking all around Manhattan I was starving so I ate the parts I could which was about half of 4 of the 8 slices of the katsu. I actually didnt plan on saying anything to the waitress about the food quality because of the company I was with but when she came by to ask if all was well and clear some of the dishes, she paused for a moment so I felt like I should explain why I didnt eat most of my food. She said she had to take it to the kitchen and tell them it was burned. After that, no apology, no bill adjustment (I didnt ask for one but she insisted on taking the plate back. I dont know what the point of that was.) Then we were just sitting there for about 15 mins before we had the chance to ask for the check. She came over with a credit card machine and we said cash and she brought the bill which came to $48 subtotal. From other reviews, it seems like this place is hit or miss and maybe this was an off day for the server. Would not recommend given that there are so many other ramen shops to try and the experience was kind of a downer for me who really enjoys and consumes Japanese food on a weekly basis.

This hidden gem in Midtown is a must-visit for ramen lovers! The staff is incredibly friendly and served perfect beer to pair with my meal. The ramen itself was delicious, and the other small dishes I tried were equally impressive. The interior is cozy and authentically Japanese, creating a great atmosphere for a relaxing meal.

Nishida was the first restaurant after I landed. 3 time zones, 12 hours of traveling, nothing felt better than a comforting bowl of ramen. Truly an amazing first meal experience. The place is very small & very intimate, but it was perfect. I wish I had more appetite to try more things, but I will make it a point to go back the next time I'm in NY! A great recommendation from a friend!

Comfort food from the Japanese Mom you never knew you had. Had the black ramen with pork, just delicious. For an unfussy unpretentious meal in a tiny restaurant in the nabe that feels like a big hug, this is the place! A handful of tables or the bar, but they also deliver or you can pick up. A great neighborhood find.

Must say, food is average, the soup base for ramen is ok , miso flavor missing, ghe char siu pork is tough and no base taste. The dumpling is burnt and stuffings has no taste. The pork sausage is ok n juicy. The beef bowel is soupy, insteads of soft and flavourful like it should be. Will not recommend for foodie, but as a midnight food stop , yes .
